  • Patent number: 5410191
Abstract: A monostable multivibrator is formed in a monolithic integrated circuit along with a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). The VCO and the monostable multivibrator respectively includes capacitors. A center frequency of the VCO is controlled by a control signal from a low-pass filter which receives an output of a phase comparator. A current from a constant current source circuit is adjusted to be in proportion to a level of the control signal. The capacitor of the monostable multivibrator charged by the current is adjusted from the constant current source circuit in response to a trigger pulse. A period from a time when the charge is started to a time when a charged voltage of the capacitor reaches a predetermined value becomes a metastable period of the monostable multivibrator.

  • Patent number: 5317216
Abstract: An active filter circuit includes a first and second differential pairs each having a pair of transistors. A capacitor is connected to a collector of one transistor from each of the first and second differential pairs. A first and second negative feed-back paths are connected, respectively, between the collector and a base of one transistor of the first differential pair and between the collector of one transistor of the second differential pair and a base of the other transistor of the first differential pair. By applying suitable voltages to respective inputs of the differential pairs, the active filter circuit functions as a band-pass filter, lowpass filter, high-pass filter, band elimination filter or phase-shifting filter with the same circuit configuration. A current mirror circuit correlatively changes current amounts of the first and second differential pairs in response to a control voltage, whereby a filter characteristic can be changed.

  • Patent number: 5045818
Abstract: A frequency modulation circuit includes a VCO which constitutes a PLL along with a loop filter which is operated by a current source. Such a frequency modulation circuit is formed in monolithic IC. When a power source of the IC is turned-on, a capacitor included in the loop filter is biased by an output voltage of a voltage follower which receives Vcc/2. Since this output voltage rises in the same manner as Vcc, a center frequency of the VCO can be rapidly pulled into a phase-locked state of the PLL. In addition, the frequency modulation circuit is provided with a voltage-to-current conversion circuit which increases a charging current for the capacitor in response to a mute signal generated when the power source is turned-on, whereby the time constant of the loop filter is decreased substantially.

  • Patent number: 5017841
Abstract: A FM signal is applied to a variable gain amplifier (5) of an FM demodulator. The gain of variable gain amplifier (5) is varied in response to a gain control signal. The output signal of variable gain amplifier (5) is applied to an FM demodulating circuit (7) constituting a PLL circuit via a BPF (6). The output signal of BPF (6) is also applied to a synchronous detector (12) via a 90.degree. fixed phase shifter (11). The output signal of a VCO (10) included in the PLL circuit is applied to synchronous detector (12) as the reference signal. The synchronous detector (12) is responsive to the reference signal for synchronous detecting the output signal of 90.degree. fixed phase shifter (11). The output signal of synchronous detector (12) is applied to variable gain amplifier (5) via a LPF (13) as the gain control signal. Thus, variable gain amplifier (5) is responsive to the output signal of synchronous detector (12) for making the amplitude of the FM audio signal included in the FM signal constant.

  • Patent number: 4994766
Abstract: A frequency modulator is formed in a monolithic integrated circuit as a whole. A direct current signal from a center frequency control circuit and an alternating current signal from a voltage controlled amplifier (VCA) which receives a modulation signal and outputs the alternating current signal are applied to a control input of a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). A center frequency (Fo) of the VCO is determined by the direct current signal from the center frequency control circuit and a frequency deviation amount (.DELTA.f) of the VCO is determined by the alternating current signal from the VCA, and therefore, a frequency-modulated signal of Fo+.DELTA.f can be outputtd from the VCO. The direct current signal from the center frequency control circuit is also applied to a control input of the VCA, and therefore, the center frequency of the VCO as well as an amplitude of the alternating current signal, that is, the frequency deviation amount can be controlled by only the direct current signal.

  • Patent number: 4237233
Abstract: In cultivation of the Basidiomycetes under aeration and agitation in an aqueous liquid medium containing saccharide as a carbon source and yeast extract, peptone, casamino acid and/or meat extract as nutrient, the initial charge of the medium is adjusted such that it is less than about 70% of the capacity of the fermentor used, and the medium or at least one component thereof is supplied additionally in portions as cultivation advances. Such control of the medium feed suppresses excessive foaming which occurs in the aqueous medium during cultivation, and allows smooth and efficient cultivation of the Basidiomycetes.
