  • Patent number: 8800148
Abstract: An outer rim molded material is molded by forging or casting, a portion of the outer rim which extends from a hump to a bead seat is separated from part of a rim flange precursor and is caused to fall in a sloping fashion inwards of a wheel width so as to form a bead seat precursor, and the bead seat precursor so formed is then joined to be welded to a top or side of a rim well rising portion precursor. An external surface is cut to be finished to a proper shape, and an annular hollow portion is formed underneath a lower surface of the bead seat portion.

  • Patent number: 7958636
Abstract: An outer rim molded material is molded by forging or casting, a portion of the outer rim which extends from a hump to a bead seat is separated from part of a rim flange precursor 2a and is caused to fall in a sloping fashion inwards of a wheel width so as to form a bead seat precursor 12a, and the bead seat precursor 12a so formed is then joined to be welded to a top or side of a rim well rising portion precursor 5b. An external surface is cut to be finished to a proper shape, and an annular hollow portion 8 is formed underneath a lower surface of the bead seat portion.

  • Patent number: 6991297
Abstract: A two-piece-wise built-up light-alloy wheel with a rather big diameter for automobiles and two-wheeled vehicles, being aimed to be made as lightweight and have an improved ornamental appearance, comprising: a rim (2) having outer and inner rim portions integrally formed with each other; a center disk (1) built-up with the integral rim (2); fastener bolts fastening the rim with the center disk; and a plurality of thick-wall portions (9) bulging from and integrally formed with the outer rim portion as bulging toward center of the wheel, as to form screw holes for the fastener bolts. Thickness of the rim (2) is substantially same except for the thick-wall portions, throughout from a bead seat (6) on the outer rim portion through a well part (8).

  • Publication number: 20010048241
Abstract: According to the invention, a waterproof structure is formed by disposing a seal ring on members communicated with a center hole (50) including a hub hole (17), a liner (53) for preventing contact corrosion between different kinds of metals from occurring is interposed between a hub flange (2) and a hub (4), and a mounting face (18) of a wheel (1) to an axle (3), and a flanged washer (44) having a recessed section shape is used at a place where a fastening member (43) for the wheel (1) and a rim (42) abuts against a disk (7) of the magnesium alloy wheel (1), the flanged washer having a property that a contact potential difference between a surface of the washer and magnesium is small, whereby contact corrosion due to retention of an electrically conductive medium such as water or salt water is prevented from occurring, so that the durability is remarkably improved.
