Abstract: A source device 10 transmits streaming data. In a packet receiver 22 of a sync device 20, statistical data acquirer 23 calculates statistical data such as one-way delay time, packet loss ratio, reception rate and the like from the received streaming data and transmits it to the source device. The statistical information received by source device 20 is extracted by a packet receiver 15 and input to a channel band estimator 16. The channel band estimator 16 gives encoder 11 instructions to provide optimal encoding based on the transmission delay. Upon this, the transmission delay is calculated by assuming the minimum value of the communication delay from the start of transmission as zero. Control is performed by determining the delay time and packet loss ratio in data transmission and considering, based on these, the channel quality and bandwidth margin, so as to provide the optimal transmission bit rate or encoding rate.

Abstract: By a simple operation, data held in a portable information terminal can be transmitted to a desired apparatus and processed appropriately. A receiving apparatus 410 includes a wireless LAN communication unit 420 and an infrared receiving unit 82, and processing units 422 and 424 responsive to reception of data by the infrared receiving unit 82 from the same apparatus of the data received by wireless LAN communication unit 420, for performing a process determined by the data received by the infrared receiving unit 82 on the data received by the wireless LAN communication unit 420. Transmission of data as the object of processing and the process thereon can be designated by the data transmitting side, without requiring the side of receiving apparatus 410 to designate the method of processing.

The error screen is contained as sub-content in the top screen content, and therefore can be changed flexibly. This makes it possible to provide a content playback apparatus capable of performing error handling flexibly in accordance with the content being reproduced.

Abstract: First and second devices establish communication including conversation therebetween through a network. The first device transmits to the second device a content data list of a TV broadcast program (content data) and the like stored in its storing unit. At that time, the first device receives from the second device a content data list of a TV broadcast program and the like, the content data list being read from a storing unit of the second device. Similarly, the second device receives the content data list from the first device. Each of the first and second devices compares the content data list in its own storing unit and the received content data list, and based on a comparison result, searches its own storing unit. Through the search, identical content data owned by both of the first and second devices is displayed at the first and second devices.

A retrieval connection is formed between the local device and the holding area. A second group of one or more data items is determined from the first group of data items transferred to the holding area. Abstract: A cylindrical roller bearing includes a plurality of cylindrical rollers disposed between a circular outer race and a circular inner race without using a retainer. The inner and outer races are devoid of annular flanges extending radially from opposite axial ends of the races for controlling the position of the cylindrical rollers in an axial direction. A pair of thrust bearing plates are disposed on the opposite sides of the outer race for controlling the positions of the outer race and the cylindrical rollers in the axial direction. One or more of the cylindrical rollers are formed shorter than the other cylindrical rollers. With this arrangement, a skew of one or more of the cylindrical rollers, which may occur when the outer race is subjected to an axial load, is taken up by circumferential gaps formed between the shorter cylindrical roller and adjacent cylindrical rollers at opposite ends of the shorter cylindrical roller.

The core shaft and the steel pipe are locked and held together by a locking device such as a pin or a key. Abstract: A process of manufacturing a printed circuit board having plated landless through-holes involves filling a radiation curable putty material in through-holes plated with copper in a substrate, exposing the material under radiation of light in order to cure the material, placing a liquid resist on the substrate surface, covering a mask over the resist, exposing the resist layer by using a mask having a circuit pattern, developing the resist, etching the substrate surface, and removing the cured putty material in the through-holes and the remaining portion of the resist.

Abstract: A radiation curable filling material is used for a process of manufacturing a printed circuit board having plated landless through-holes. The material is filled in the through-holes and solidified in the through-holes via a photo polymerization to protect plated through-hole interior from an etching solution. The composition comprises a hydrophthalic acid monoester compound as a component (A); a catalyst for promoting photo polymerization of a vinyl group in the mono ester as a component (B); a highly transparent rosin having a Hazen color tone of 300 or less for the improvement of filling material transmission by radiation as a component (C), a powder of extender as a competent (D). The photo polymerization reaction occurs at the vinyl group of the hydrophthalic mono ester with the presence of the catalyst for promoting the photo polymerization. The rate of the reaction is enhanced by adding a vinyl compound such as an acrylate.
