  • Patent number: 8466387
Abstract: In a laser processing method, a workpiece is set with respect to a jig having a laser passage hole and a relative position of the jig and the workpiece is determined so that the laser passage hole can face toward a target processing point on the workpiece. Then, laser light is irradiated on the target processing point through the laser passage hole while creating a stream of an inert gas flowing from a peripheral area of the target processing point toward the target processing point and flowing away from the workpiece through the laser passage hole.

  • Patent number: 7946769
Abstract: A bearing mechanism includes a shaft, a bearing portion, and a cover closing a bottom end of the bearing portion. The bearing portion and the cover are preferably connected to one another by laser welding. A surface of a welded portion formed by the laser welding includes an inclined surface which is inclined such that the further from a central axis a portion thereof is, the axially higher the portion is. With this unique structure, contamination of lubricant used inside the bearing mechanism by fumes generated due to the laser welding is minimized, and therefore a reliable and durable bearing mechanism is provided.

  • Patent number: 7908739
Abstract: In a manufacturing method, energy beam heat is radiated to a target area of the motor assembly which is used for a storage disk drive. By radiating energy beam thereto, a portion of the motor assembly is deformed in a non-contact manner, thus, without being affected by elastic recovery of a portion of the motor assembly to be deformed, the machining accuracy of the motor assembly is adjusted in a precise manner.

  • Patent number: 7092203
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a fluid dynamic bearing in which a stopper is fixed by welding. The bearing comprises a hub, a shaft erected on the hub, a sleeve, a cylindrical wall erected on the hub, and the stopper mounted on the cylindrical wall. The method comprises a first step to hold oil in the bearing gap, and a second step to locate the stopper on the peripheral wall being apart from the interface of the oil to fix the stopper by LASER welding.

  • Patent number: 6506167
Abstract: An object of the invention is to achieve an increased speed of blood collection and separation as well as ease of handling of plasma components after blood separation. A blood-collecting tube, which draws in blood and separates it by using an internal negative pressure in the tube, comprises an upstream tube 10 having a blood inlet 11 and blood outlets 18, a filter 20 for separating blood and a downstream tube 12. A plug 18 is fitted to the blood inlet 11 to thereby close the interior of the upstream tube 10, and the filter 20 is installed so that it blocks the blood outlets 18. The downstream tube 12 is disposed to enclose the filter 20 and constructed in such a way that the downstream tube 12 can be attached to and detached from the upstream tube 10.

  • Patent number: 5865320
Abstract: A rack for holding a plurality of flat articles includes three elongated supports each having a longitudinal axis and each having longitudinal ends. Linking elements are connected to the elongated supports for supporting the elongated supports in a position in which the longitudinal axes of the elongated supports are parallel to one another and in which the longitudinal ends of the elongated supports are disposed at the apexes of a triangle. A pivotal mounting pivotably mounts at least one of the linking elements on at least one of the elongated supports to enable changing the relative position between the at least one elongated support and the at least one other elongated support. A plurality of spaced and parallel flange members are provided on each of the elongated supports for supporting edge portions of the flat articles in the spaces between the flange members.
