  • Patent number: 11463591
Abstract: An electronic device includes circuitry. The circuitry controls a state transition between an operation ready state and a low power state, the low power state being a state whose standby power is lower than standby power of the operation ready state. The circuitry calculates a predicted time period required for the electronic device to transit to the low power state. The circuitry selects, from a plurality of device diagnoses, a particular device diagnosis whose execution is completed within the calculated predicted time period. The circuitry executes the selected particular device diagnosis.

  • Patent number: 10620578
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device to form an image on an image bearer and circuitry configured to accept, from a user, an input of a density level selected from a plurality of different density levels and control an image forming condition under which the image forming device forms the image. The circuitry is configured to correct density unevenness of the image formed on the image bearer by the image forming device and correct the density unevenness of the image at the density level accepted. The density unevenness is unevenness appearing in a main scanning direction orthogonal to a direction of conveyance of the image bearer during image formation.

  • Patent number: 9671734
Abstract: A control device drives a main driving device among driving devices each used to discharge recording material from a recording material container. A malfunction detector detects malfunction of the main driving device. When the malfunction detector has detected the malfunction, a recording material amount setting unit sets information indicating an amount of the recording material in the recording material container connected to the main driving device to a first value. A main driving device switching unit stops, when an amount of the recording material in the recording material container connected to the main driving device is the first value, driving the main driving device and then, when the driving devices other than the main driving device include one driving device having a recording material container connected thereto that contains a recording material an amount of which exceeds the first value, switches the main driving device to the one driving device.

  • Publication number: 20160170356
Abstract: A toner bottle driving device control method includes driving one of multiple toner bottle driving devices connected to a single toner container at a time, detecting abnormality of a toner bottle driving device being driven, determining a first abnormality phase of the toner bottle driving device being driven when a number of times the abnormality is detected exceeds a threshold, inhibiting the toner bottle driving device being in the first abnormality phase from driving until the first abnormality phase is resolved, driving a drivable toner bottle driving device containing a non-empty toner bottle when the toner bottle contained in the toner bottle driving device being driven is determined as empty, determining that the multiple toner bottle driving devices are in a second abnormality phase when each of the multiple toner bottle driving devices is determined as being in the first abnormality phase, and inhibiting image formation.

  • Publication number: 20130010334
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a print data storing unit that stores therein input print data; a delay-time input unit that inputs delay time for receiving a print of the print data; a controlling unit that controls start timing of printing by referring to the delay time for receiving the print that has been input from the delay-time input unit, actual time, and a printing state; and a printing unit that converts the print data stored in the print data storing unit into printing image data suitable for printing and starts printing.

  • Patent number: 4393540
Abstract: A detachable carrying handle comprising a web section and a pair of parallel limb sections for carrying a portable equipment having on each side a recess and a projection which is aligned with the projection on the other side. Each limb section comprises a first part connected to the web section and a second part pivotally connected to the first part. The first part is formed with a longitudinally extending recess into which the projection is inserted by moving the handle in a direction away from the equipment and a pin which is transversely releasably received in the equipment recess. The upper edge of the second part is urged about its pivot by a spring toward the equipment and is engageable with the projection when the latter is received in the longitudinal recess so that the handle is held in an upright position.
