Abstract: An image display device is provided, which can secure a predetermined display quality regardless of a type of an input image. The color image display device comprises a display device having a delta arrangement screen, a driving circuit, an image decision circuit for deciding which of plural predetermined types an input image is, a memory circuit for memorizing temporarily at least a part of input image data for one frame, an operation circuit for performing an operation process having preset contents in accordance with image data for plural pixels including image data read out of the memory circuit, and an operation control circuit for switching the contents of the operation process in the operation circuit in response to the output of the image decision circuit.

Abstract: A method for displaying a color image is provided in which a predetermined display quality is secured regardless of a type of an input image, and display quality of an image having a linear edge is improved. The method comprises the steps of using a display device having a cell arrangement structure in which cells of each cell column in a display screen have the same light color, a light color of a cell column is different from that of the neighboring cell column, and a cell position in the column direction of a cell column is shifted from that of the neighboring cell column among a set of the cell columns each having the same light color, and lighting two neighboring cells in at least one cell column out of a set of cell columns each having the same light color when displaying a display line perpendicular to the column direction.

Abstract: A plasma display panel includes a dielectric layer in which a filler for enhancing reflectance is dispersed. To increase luminescence efficiency, the filler consists of flakes oriented in parallel to the surface of the dielectric layer.

Abstract: A touch panel to detect a coordinate of an arbitrary position where pressure is applied. The touch panel includes a substrate, a resistor layer provided on the substrate, a spacer layer made of an insulator material, a conductor layer confronting the resistor layer via the spacer layer, a plurality of point electrodes provided on the resistor layer at a peripheral part of the resistor layer along each side of the resistor layer, and a plurality of switching elements provided above the substrate and electrically coupled to the point electrodes for supplying a voltage to the point electrodes. The spacer layer is made up of a plurality of spacer pieces which are arranged so that an electrical contact is made between the conductor layer and the resistor layer when a pressure is applied at an arbitrary position on the conductor layer.
