  • Patent number: 6052602
Abstract: A base station selecting method, a reference signal receiving method, and a subscriber apparatus by which base stations to be monitored can be efficiently selected with a simple structure, wherein a pilot signal detector includes a counter member for counting prescribed time information; a selecting member for selecting a base station for detecting a pilot signal for each frame forming a spectrum diffusion signal based on the value of the time information; and a detecting member for detecting the timing of the pilot signal transmitted from the base station selected by the selecting member. The base stations are selected for each frame based on the prescribed time information and the timings of the selected base stations are detected. Therefore, the number of the base stations to be monitored during a detection of a timing for one can be minimized as required and a consumed electric power corresponding to the number of times of the detection of timings can be lowered.

  • Patent number: 5966402
Abstract: A pilot signal detection method, a pilot signal detection apparatus and a subscriber in which the timing of a pilot signal of a neighbor base station is detected correctly and efficiently for improving the quality of communication of a mobile station. Partial correlation is taken of a pilot signal of an arbitrary base station within a first range of correlation. The pilot signal for which the result of the partial correlation has exceeded a first threshold becomes a pilot candidate signal for detection. Partial correlation is then taken of the pilot signal of the pilot candidate signal within a range of correlation broader than the first range of correlation. The pilot signal for which the result of the partial correlation has exceeded a second threshold becomes a pilot detection signal.

  • Patent number: 5953364
Abstract: In a pilot signal detecting method, a pilot signal detecting apparatus, and a receiver, deterioration of communication quality can be prevented in environments where out-of-lock is more likely to occur due to a reduced reception level of a pilot signal. When a demodulator is suffering from out-of-lock with an assigned timing, timings used in respective demodulators are excluded from timing candidates to be newly assigned to the demodulator in the out-of-lock state, such that a timing of a pilot signal, with which a received signal can be demodulated, is selected from the remaining timing candidates.
