  • Publication number: 20020120913
Abstract: A computer program stored on a storage medium for performing wiring condition processing for a semiconductor integrated circuit. The computer program when executed causes a computer to perform the steps of creating layout information to determine a layout of devices on the semiconductor integrated circuit based on logic information describing connections of the devices on the semiconductor integrated circuit, determining a virtual wiring path from the layout information and calculating a wiring delay value based on the virtual wiring path. Other steps performed upon execution of the computer program include upon the calculated wiring delay value of the virtual wiring path exceeding a predetermined reference value, calculating a wiring delay value of the virtual wiring path when a wide wiring line is used at a predetermined usage ratio.

  • Patent number: 6436600
Abstract: An image-forming system has an image-forming sheet, and a printer for forming an image on the sheet. The sheet has a sheet of paper, and a layer of microcapsule, coated over the paper sheet, that contains a plurality of microcapsules filled with a dye. A shell wall of each microcapsule is composed of a resin exhibiting a pressure/temperature characteristic such that, when each microcapsule is squashed under a predetermined pressure at a predetermined temperature, the dye seeps from the squashed microcapsule. The microcapsules are covered with an infrared absorbent coating that absorbs infrared rays having a specific wavelength. The printer has a transparent glass plate, and a roller platen elastically pressed against the plate at the predetermined pressure, with the sheet being interposed between the plate and the platen.

  • Patent number: 6433855
Abstract: An image transfer apparatus that records an image through selective heat and pressure application has an ink ribbon and a film disposed between a driving head and a flat platen. Color dyes of the ink ribbon are transferred to the film as the image. The image on the film is thus conveyed to a position for transferring the image to a recording sheet. The film and the recording sheet are pressed between a transfer roller and a conveyor roller with a pressure that sufficiently smooths unevenness in the surface of the recording sheet. A high quality image is thus recorded on the recording sheet regardless of the surface condition of the recording sheet.

  • Patent number: 6417915
Abstract: In an image-forming system, an image-forming substrate is used, which has a sheet of paper, and a layer of microcapsules coated over the sheet of paper. The layer of microcapsules includes at least one type of microcapsules filled with an ink. A shell wall of each microcapsule is formed of resin, which exhibits a temperature/pressure characteristic such that each of the microcapsules is squashed under a predetermined pressure when being heated to a predetermined temperature, thereby discharging the dye out of the shell wall. A printer, having a roller platen and a thermal head, forms an image on the substrate. The platen locally exerts the pressure on the microcapsule layer. The thermal head selectively heats a localized area of the microcapsule layer, on which the pressure is exerted by the platen, to a temperature in accordance with an image-information data, such that the microcapsules in the microcapsule layer are selectively squashed and an image on the microcapsule layer.

  • Patent number: 6411369
Abstract: A recording sheet includes a micro-capsule layer which includes a plurality types of micro-capsules colored with different colors, for example, primary or complimentary colors of a subtractive mixture. The micro-capsules are filled with core materials which are discharged when the micro-capsules are broken. Each type of micro-capsule is selectively broken by a selective temperature and pressure application. When a micro-capsule is broken, the core material blends out the color of the micro-capsule. Additionally, an image forming system includes a heating unit for selectively heating the micro-capsules by an output of a Joule heat or light irradiation. Different wavelengths of light are radiated by the light irradiation heating unit, which are absorbed depending upon an absorption band exhibited by the different colored micro-capsules.

  • Patent number: 6401233
Abstract: In a wiring condition processing method for a semiconductor integrated circuit layout information, which determines the layout of devices on the semiconductor circuit, is created based on logic information describing a connection relationship among the devices on the semiconductor. Next, a virtual wiring path is determined from the layout information. Based on the virtual wiring path, a wiring delay value is calculated. If the wiring delay value exceeds a predetermined reference value, one or more of information on the usage ratio of a wide wiring line, information on the usage ratio of a wiring layer with a small wiring load capacity, information on the usage ratio of a parallel wiring line, and information on the usage ratio of a wiring material are added to the information on the virtual wiring path to create wiring condition information.

  • Patent number: 6392761
Abstract: A scanner system is provided with a scanner provided with an image sensor, and a sheet feed adapter detachably coupled to the scanner. A predetermined surface of the sheet feed adapter faces the image sensor when the sheet feed adapter is coupled to the scanner. The scanner is operable in a hand scan mode when the sheet feed adapter is detached from the scanner, and in a sheet through mode when the sheet feed adapter is coupled to the scanner. In the sheet through mode, an original to be scanned is automatically fed between the predetermined surface and the image sensor. A predetermined image is formed on the predetermined surface of the sheet feed adapter, and the scanner comprises a judging system that judges that the sheet feed adapter is coupled to the scanner only when the image sensor scans the predetermined image on the predetermined surface of the sheet feed adapter.

  • Publication number: 20010049800
Abstract: RAID information and physical position information of hard disk units are managed by a disk controller in a mapped fashion. When the physical position of the hard disk units is changed, the information mapping is retried. Further, the positional information of the hard disk units accommodated in a disk array system under the administration of the disk controller, is calculated so as to form n-dimensional coordinate system information, and the resulting information is stored in each of the hard disk units. When the hard disk units are inserted into the disk array system, the n-dimensional coordinate system information is read from each hard disk unit. If it is detected that there is difference from the current coordinate system information, then information before removal and that after the insertion are compared with each other and a data link is reconstructed.

  • Patent number: 6321370
Abstract: Optimal layout of logic elements of semiconductor integrated circuits is achieved in conformity with the intention of the logic designer in a short period of time in an interactive mode. When logic blocks are to be laid out on a display screen, a logic block file consisting at least of logic block names, logic block sizes, and information on connection relationships with other logic blocks is used, and logic blocks essential for the designer's intention are laid out in random positions on a display screen, and then the connection relationships among the logic blocks are displayed according to the logic block file. In this procedure, whether the layout is appropriate or not is made readily recognizable by a table of relationships among the logic blocks.

  • Patent number: 6283649
Abstract: A plurality of thermal heads for different colors, are disposed in parallel in a line-printing direction, being offset with respect to each other in a transport direction along which an image-forming sheet is moved via a conveyer path. The image forming sheet is a pressure/temperature-sensitive sheet or a temperature-sensitive sheet. The thermal heads are moved in the line-printing direction. Adjacent-opposing ends of adjacent thermal heads are separated in the line-printing direction, and overlap in the transport direction. The thermal heads are controlled so as to simultaneously generate image-pixels on the image-forming sheet. The printing speed is high due to a plurality of colors being simultaneously printed. The thermal heads are used as part of pressure applying unit. The pressure applying unit is provided for selectively applying predetermined pressure to the micro-capsules, when the image-forming sheet is a pressure/temperature-sensitive sheet.
