    Abstract: A cooling structure of a projection tube having a following constitution is disclosed. A chamber in which a liquid coolant for cooling a panel surface is filled is formed on the panel surface of the projection tube and the chamber is defined by the panel surface, a lens which faces the panel surface in an opposed manner and a metal envelope which radiates heat. A first seal member is disposed between the metal envelope and the panel surface, while a second seal member is disposed between the metal envelope and the lens. A holder for pressing the lens in the direction toward the metal envelope is disposed in the periphery of the lens. Pads which have surfaces approximately perpendicular to a tube axis of the projection tube are formed on a funnel portion of the projection tube. A sustainer for supporting the chamber is brought into contact with the pads.

    Abstract: A color cathode ray tube includes in combination an in-line type electron gun assembly and a dot type phosphor screen, wherein an outer panel surface is made substantially flat, an inner surface is curved and a shadow mask has round apertures or holes while having a curved shape with a convex form as projected toward the panel. The display tube is featured in that the shadow mask holes have a horizontal direction pitch Ph and vertical direction pitch Pv, that the horizontal pitch Ph has a value at terminate ends of a minor axis of the shadow mask, which value is at least 5% greater than a pitch value at the center part of the shadow mask, and that a Ph/Pv value at the shadow mask minor axis ends is greater than that at the shadow mask center. With such an arrangement, it is possible to increase the mechanical strength at a part adjacent to the shadow mask minor axis in particular.

    Abstract: A Braun tube for use in a TV receiver or the like, in which its screen does not need high resolution, but the brightness of the screen is important. The Braun tube has a panel with a flat outer surface, an electron gun arranged in an in-line manner and a phosphor screen whose phosphors are arranged in a delta pattern, and the horizontal pitch of a shadow mask can be varied in the direction of the Y-axis. The mechanical strength of the shadow mask is improved by making the curvature of the shadow mask larger than the curvature of the inner surface of the panel in the direction of the vertical axis of the screen.

The sealing chamber includes a transparent member disposed in front of the phosphor screen panel to be spaced apart therefrom, a heat dissipation member which is disposed between the transparent member and the phosphor screen panel and part of which is in contact with the liquid coolant sealed in the sealing chamber, seal members respectively disposed between the heat dissipation member and the phosphor screen panel and between the heat dissipation member and the transparent member, and a holding piece for holding the transparent member on the heat dissipation member. The holding mechanism is coupled to the heat dissipation member.

    Abstract: A color picture tube is disclosed which comprises an electron gun for emitting an electron beam and a shadow mask including a plurality of slots and a plurality of bridges each interposed between adjacent slots along the longitudinal axis thereof. When X and Y axes are assumed passing through the central point of the surface of the shadow mask in the direction of horizontal deflection of the electron beam and passing through the same central point in the direction perpendicular to the X axis, respectively, the angle that each bridge forms with the X axis as viewed from the electron gun is determined in relation to the incident angle of the electron beam impinging upon the bridge, in accordance with the distance of the bridge from the X and Y axes.
