  • Patent number: 8346053
Abstract: A contents recording system and a contents recording method reducing a time taken for recording and editing of video content and other video contents. An optical disk device for recording video content and a computer are connected via a network. The computer is supplied with low resolution proxy AV data from the optical disk device, streaming reproduces it as live video and, at the same time, introduces essence marks as meta-data to any positions of the proxy AV data, and describes them in a meta-data file. The optical disk device transmits a header including a recording period of a captured clip to the computer after the end of the capture of the clip.

  • Patent number: 8306385
Abstract: The present invention prevents data stored in memory cards from being damaged while maintaining the operability of inserting and ejecting memory cards. A device has a connection section to which a memory card 11 is connected. The memory card 11 is different from an optical disc 10 on which image data are recorded. The device checks whether the memory card 11 is connected to the connection section. When the device starts performing certain processes to the memory card 11 after detecting that the memory card 11 is connected, the device performs mount processes. When the device stops performing the certain processes, the device immediately performs unmount processes to the memory card 11. The memory card 11 is unmounted while the device is not performing the certain processes. Unmounting the memory card 11 prevents data stored in the memory card 11 from being damaged even if a user accidentally ejects it.

  • Patent number: 7965919
Abstract: A contents recording system and a contents recording method reducing a time taken for recording and editing of video content and other video contents and enabling editing of the video contents with a high reliability. An optical disk device for recording video content and a computer are connected via a network. The computer is supplied with clip data of the video and low resolution proxy AV data from the optical disk device, streaming reproduces them as live video and, at the same time, introduces essence marks as meta-data to any positions of the proxy AV data, and describes them in a meta-data file. When a communication abnormality occurs between the optical disk device and the computer, the clip data is notified to the computer again.
