  • Publication number: 20040184591
Abstract: A communication apparatus of the present invention has a first storing unit for storing information detected by a caller information detector, a caller identifying unit for identifying a calling place of a caller based on the information stored in the first storing unit, a second storing unit for storing information of the calling place identified by the caller identifying unit, a third storing unit for storing predetermined information, and a controller for controlling a display unit to display combined information of the calling place information stored in the second storing unit and the predetermined information stored in the third storing unit. The communication apparatus has a controller for extracting voice data selected by a voice data selecting unit and controlling the voice converting unit to output a voice signal, when the plurality of voice data correspond to the caller information detected by the caller information detector.

  • Patent number: 5870678
Abstract: A cordless telephone is composed of a base unit connected to a telephone line and a handset unit capable of radio communications with the base unit. When the handset unit or the base unit initially transmits radio waves for forming a radio link, a channel is selected from a group of channels through which transmission is permitted irrespective of their electric field states, and the radio waves are transmitted through the selected channel. After the radio link has been formed, a speech channel is selected from all channels through which transmission is permitted. In this way, when the base unit or the handset unit initially transmits control data, the transmission is immediately carried out irrespective of an electric field state on the selected channel, whereby the radio link can be established in a reduced time. Further, when a speech communication is started, 15 channels additionally provided by the revised standard can be effectively utilized.

  • Patent number: 5375163
Abstract: A cordless telephone provided with a master unit and a slave unit which use a plurality of communication channels. In the case where information indicating a currently used channel or a usually used channel, which has been stored in the master unit, is lost due to, for instance, a power failure, the master unit comes to use an initially used channel, which is preset or determined by performing an operation on an identification code, and enters a standby state. At that time, the slave unit uses the usually used channel. However, when it is detected that the slave unit cannot communicate with the master unit, the slave unit calls the master unit by using the initially used channel. Then, the master and slave units come to perform, for example, an exchange of confirmation data by using the initially used channel. Next, the slave unit transmits to the master unit data indicating that the channel used by the master unit should be changed to the usually used channel.
