  • Publication number: 20030222490
Abstract: To provide an occupant protecting device in which a bag placed at the front of a seat cushion is inflated to locally and sufficiently push up or sufficiently harden the front of the seat cushion in order to prevent the forward movement of the waist of an occupant. An inflatable tube is placed under the front of a cushion pad. Gas is introduced from an inflator into the tube. A cover is provided to overlie the tube. The cover is pushed up when the tube is inflated. The cover tapers toward the top.

  • Patent number: 6594040
Abstract: A thermal transfer facsimile apparatus of the type having a transmitting system disposed above a recording system, which construction is compact and allows a user to open a body cover to remove a document jammed in the apparatus with no fear of damaging the document. In the apparatus, a part of an ink-ribbon cartridge serves as a lower guide for supporting a document to be transported, while a part of the body cover, to which a platen and rollers for feeding and delivering recording paper are attached, also serves as a lower guide for the document. When a body cover is opened to replace an ink ribbon with new one or remove a document jammed in the apparatus, a distance formed between a document feeding roller fixed to the body and a lower free end of the body cover is so elongated by virtue of the existence of the guiding part of the cartridge that document may be gently curved and stretched therebetween without being damaged. This can also assure a compact design of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6026723
Abstract: An inventive apparatus for feeding rolled paper comprises rolled paper, a feed roller for feeding the rolled paper, a cutting unit for cutting the rolled paper, a driving source for actuating the feed roller and the cutting unit, a first gear train interposed between the driving source and the feed roller and a second gear train interposed between the driving source and the cutting unit. A reverse feed gear for transmitting driving force for a cutter gear to a feed gear is interposed between the first gear train and the second gear train and connects the first gear train with the second gear train when a movable cutter moves from a cutting position to a non-cutting position. Thereby, the feed roller is rotatively driven in the direction opposite to the feed direction by the driving force from the cutter gear.

  • Patent number: 5564842
Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a roll of recording paper, a roll conveying roller for feeding a roll of recording paper, and a sheet conveying roller for feeding sheets of recording paper. Power from a DC motor is transmitted to both rollers through a switching mechanism. The switching mechanism includes a system gear, a planetary gear, and a planetary gear arm, and a locking member for fixing the planetary gear arm at a prescribed position. A head release cam, a head release pulley, and a timing belt cooperate with the switching mechanism to remove pressure from a print recording head to prevent damage to the head during switching. Accordingly, a roll of recording paper and sheets of recording paper can be selected and used as needed without increasing the manufacturing cost and size of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5077618
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus has a single conveying roller in it, above which an image sensor is set and below which a printing head is set. Pressing pins are set respectively near the upper and lower ends of components supporting the conveying roller to freely rotate. In transmission, the lower pressing pins keep away the printing head from the conveying roller and the image sensor presses an original document onto the conveying roller. In reception, the upper pressing pins keep away the image sensor from the conveying roller and the printing head presses the recording paper onto the conveying roller. In this way, structure of the facsimile apparatus is simplified.
