  • Patent number: 6132069
Abstract: An embedded type lighting device is formed by assembling a light body to the light body mounting base which is to be mounted to a fitting face. The light body provides the lamp structure made of a plastic material, the lamp socket, and the connector for electrical connection and mechanical connection to the light body mounting base. The light body mounting base includes a base structure made of a plastic material, a terminal block, and connection means for receiving, electrically connecting and mechanically supporting the connector of the light body. The light body is connected both electrically and mechanically to the light body mounting base by the connector. Yet, it is possible to omit a special insulation structure with regard to the terminal and the connection means by making the light body structure and the base structure of a plastic material. Thus the workability of the light body is improved and the construction of both the light body and the light body mounting base is simplified.

  • Patent number: 6129443
Abstract: A strip-mounted luminaire (1) has a ribbon cable (11), to the front side of which sockets (12) are connected. An illuminant (13) is mounted on each socket (12). Each watertight cover mechanism (2) has a base member (51) which is provided with a window (72) adapted to permit a socket (12) of the strip-mounted luminaire (1) to be inserted therein; a back end member (52) for holding the ribbon cable (11) in conjunction with the base member (51) in such a state that the ribbon cable (11) is sandwiched between the base member (51) and the back end member (52); a translucent globe (53) adapted to be attached to the base member (51) so as to enclose the socket (12) and the illuminant (13); a first sealing member (54) for sealing and waterproofing the space around the socket (12); and a second sealing member (55) for sealing and waterproofing the gap between the translucent globe (53) and the base member (51).

  • Patent number: 5957731
Abstract: An incandescent lamp (1) to be connected to a socket (11) includes a glass tube (2) having a sealing portion (5) at each end thereof, and a generally U-shaped lead portion (4a) connected to a filament (3) disposed in the glass tube (2) is projected from each sealing portion 5. A socket body (12) of the socket (11) includes a base portion (21) and a pair of socket portions (22) respectively rising from both ends of the base portion (21). Each socket portion (22) is provided with a sealing portion groove (27a) and a lead portion groove (27b), which are adapted to respectively permit the sealing portion (5) and the lead portion (4a) at the corresponding end of the incandescent lamp (1) to be removably inserted. A pair of feeding terminal pieces (34) of a lamp contact terminal (13) are disposed in each socket portion (22) at such a position as to face the lead portion groove (27b).
