  • Patent number: 11929141
Abstract: Sparsity-aware reconfiguration compute-in-memory (CIM) static random access memory (SRAM) systems are disclosed. In one aspect, a reconfigurable precision succession approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that has the ability to form (n+m) bit precision using n-bit and m-bit sub-ADCs is provided. By controlling which sub-ADCs are used based on data sparsity, precision may be maintained as needed while providing a more energy efficient design.

  • Patent number: 11800516
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, via an autonomous uplink communication, one or more transport blocks to a base station. Each transport block may include a plurality of code block groups (CBGs). The base station may provide CBG-level feedback to the UE based at least in part on the autonomous uplink communication. In some examples, the base station may provide the CBG-level feedback in one or more downlink feedback information (DFI) packets. In some other examples, the base station may provide the CBG-level feedback via one or more uplink transmission grants. The UE may retransmit one or more CBGs from the autonomous uplink communication based at least in part on the DFI packets or uplink transmission grants.

  • Patent number: 11770221
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for time domain single carrier (SC) waveform communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may generate an SC waveform by resampling (e.g., up-sampling) mapped information bits prior to insertion of a cyclic prefix (CP) or guard interval (GI). Performing resampling prior to CP/GI insertion allows for resource allocation flexibility and a base station may allocate resources for the SC waveform in accordance with this flexibility. For example, a base station may not be limited or restricted to a certain number of resources for SC waveform communications and may therefore determine a resource allocation for the UE based on the capability of the UE to perform resampling prior to CP/GI insertion. The resampling may be performed according to a set of parameters including a resampling ratio, which may be indicated to the UE via control signaling (e.g., from the base station).

  • Publication number: 20230134051
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that enable user terminals to eliminate or reduce the number of dummy bursts (or bursts with no data) they send. The systems and methods use two burst detectors, a first burst detector that analyzes the physical structure of the signal, and a second burst detector that analyzes the informational structure of the signal. Output from the first burst detector can be used to control operation of a signal decoder that decodes received signals. The second burst detector analyzes output from the signal decoder to determine the second burst indicator. In other words, the first burst detector can be implemented prior to decoding the received signal to provide a first estimate related to the presence or absence of a burst. This can then be used to limit the amount of processing performed by the signal decoder.

  • Patent number: 11638289
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a UE may measure a first reference signal, associated with a frequency band of a long term evolution (LTE) system, and a second reference signal associated with a frequency band of a new radio (NR) system. The frequency band of the NR system may overlap the frequency band of the LTE system. The UE may determine first channel state feedback, associated with the frequency band of the LTE system, and second channel state feedback, associated with the frequency band of the NR system, based at least in part on the first reference signal and the second reference signal, respectively. The UE may report the first channel state feedback or the second channel state feedback in uplink control information (UCI). Other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20230118482
Abstract: Schedulers that allocate resource grants on a slot-by-slot basis within a scheduling epoch or frame can create a front-loading effect where allocations occur more frequently in slots earlier in frames. To address these and other issues, systems and methods are disclosed for scheduling resource grants in a network to improve network transmit power profiles. For example, a scheduler is configured to randomize the order of slots in a scheduling epoch or frame, with different randomizations for different schedulers, to more evenly distribute slots with resource grant allocations to prevent or reduce a front-loading effect. As another example, the scheduler is configured to randomize start times of resource blocks within a slot to prevent or reduce the front-loading effect.

  • Patent number: 11582618
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a base station or a user equipment, may identify an energy detection threshold for a sensing beam associated with a channel access procedure, such as a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. The wireless device may also identify a set of transmit power parameters for one or more transmit beams. The wireless device may determine a degree of overlap between a coverage area of one or more transmit beams and a coverage area of the sensing beam. The wireless device may adjust the set of transmit power parameters, the energy detection threshold, or a combination thereof based on the degree of overlap. The wireless device may perform the channel access procedure based on the determining, the adjusting, or both.

  • Patent number: 11445499
Abstract: A base station may make more efficient use of resources by transmitting data in a control region of a slot in addition to a data region. In order to avoid performance loss, the base station may adjust the data transmission in the control region in comparison to a data transmission in a data region and may signal an indication to a UE to assist the UE in receiving the data transmission in the control region. An apparatus for wireless communication at the UE receives the indication from the base station regarding the data transmission in the control region and uses the indication to perform rate matching or demodulation of the data transmission in the control region. The indication may indicate any of a different MCS/rank/TPR, a reduced MCS/rank/TPR, an MCS/rank/TPR delta, a control span for a group of UEs, and a starting symbol for the data transmission. The indication may also indicate that there is no data transmitted on resources in the control region.

  • Patent number: 11382007
Abstract: This disclosure generally relates to systems, devices, apparatuses, products, and methods for wireless communication. A communication system may include a user equipment (UE) that receives a configuration for contention-free random access (CFRA) and a configuration for contention-based random access (CBRA). The UE determines a first random access resource. The first random access resource maps to one or more beams from a target base station. The UE determines a beam quality associated with the first random access resource. The UE initiates a random access request using the CFRA when the first random access resource is a contention-free resource, and the beam quality of the first random access resource is above a threshold beam quality. The UE initiates the random access request using the CBRA when the first random access resource is the contention-free resource, and the beam quality of the first random access resource is below the threshold beam quality.

  • Patent number: 11362704
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may configure a first sub-band and a second sub-band of a system bandwidth for communication with a user equipment (UE). The base station may determine a spatial quasi co-location (QCL) relationship between the first sub-band and the second sub-band and may transmit signaling to the UE that indicates the determined spatial QCL relationship. Upon receiving the signaling, the UE may derive, based on the indicated spatial QCL relationship, spatial parameters (e.g., beam width, pointing angle, etc.) for communication with the base station via the second sub-band. The spatial parameters may be derived based on spatial parameters used for reception of a downlink transmission from the base station via the first sub-band. Subsequently, the UE may communicate with the base station via the second sub-band using the derived spatial parameters.
