  • Patent number: 7912037
Abstract: A method of providing messaging services for GSM or 3G mobile stations is provided. A gateway detects a mobile network registration from a mobile station, and performs a location area update procedure with previous support nodes from its home public land mobile network. The gateway then receives data for the mobile station from a packet switched radio network and transmits the data for the mobile station through the mobile network.

  • Patent number: 7367057
Abstract: A processor based system and method for virus detection is described. In one embodiment, a processor comprises a plurality of functional units. The plurality of functional units includes a first functional unit and a second functional unit, the first functional unit to receive instructions, to determine whether ones of the instructions are associated with a virus, and to transmit the ones of the instructions not associated with the virus to the second functional unit. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving an instruction in a first functional unit of a processor pipeline. The method further includes determining whether the instruction is associated with a virus. The method further includes transmitting the instruction to a second functional unit of the processor pipeline for further processing.

  • Patent number: 7342916
Abstract: Network devices on mobile networks may be configured to improve and optimize packet processing and routing. Specifically, a home agent device may be decomposed into its major functionality, namely processing and routing. Various processors on the device are assigned to specific tasks and each processor may be optimized for its specific tasks, thus improving packet processing and routing. The home agent device may comprise one or more physical components.

  • Patent number: 7039404
Abstract: The present invention supports mobility for a mobile node between different packet data services. In one embodiment, the invention includes listening for a registration message from a mobile node at an external interface of a gateway node of a wireless packet service, the registration message containing a care-of address for the mobile node that is outside of the wireless packet service, accepting a registration message from the mobile node at the external interface, and registering the mobile node to the care-of address contained in the registration message. This embodiment further includes sending a registration reply message to the mobile node via the care-of address, the registration reply message indicating successful registration, creating a binding for the mobile node, tunneling packets addressed to the mobile node to the care-of address, and receiving tunneled packets from the mobile node, decapsulating the tunneled packets and sending them to the appropriate address.
