Patent number: 9788216Abstract: A wireless network includes a plurality of small cells. The small cells each register with the network, and an application server tracks the locations of the small cells within the network. Upon entry to the network, the small cell registers with various event packages managed by the application server. When a small cell in the network updates its configurations and/or parameters, the small cell publishes those changes to the application server. The application server determines other nearby small cells that are “interested” in those changes based on their proximity to the changed cell. The application server then notifies those proximate cells of the changes made to the changed cell so that the proximate cells can update their own configurations.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2013Date of Patent: October 10, 2017Assignee: Avago Technologies General IP (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Kaveh Ghaboosi, Manish Vemulapalli, Jim Oates, Yuqiang Tang

Patent number: 9532302Abstract: Methods and systems for establishing and/or maintaining communication cluster environments that support a plurality of communication devices. The plurality of communication devices can be configured to communicate with one another utilizing the communication cluster environment. The communication within the communication cluster environment can include device-to-device communications between two or more of the plurality of communication devices. Further, the device-to-device communications can utilizes one or more non-3GPP wireless communication protocols and/or standards.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2014Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventors: Kaveh Ghaboosi, Manish Vemulapalli, Noel James Oates, Yuqiang Tang

Patent number: 9397800Abstract: A duplexing method is provided that combines aspects of Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) and Time Division Duplex (TDD) methods in a network, such as a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network. The duplexing method may be implemented on an existing FDD network by replacing the FDD uplink (UL)-only radio frame with a full TDD radio frame having dynamically allocable UL and downlink (DL) sub-frames. Alternatively, the duplexing method may be implemented on an existing TDD network by adding a second frequency to pair with an existing frequency over which a FDD DL-only radio frame can be run.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2013Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: BROADCOM CORPORATIONInventors: Kaveh Ghaboosi, Manish Goldie Vemulapalli, Noel James Oates

Publication number: 20150181562Abstract: A method includes sending a message from a first to at least one second cognitive radio apparatus to determine a channel to be used for sending data from the first to the second radio apparatus, the message sent over a first channel and comprising an advertisement of at least one second channel for use in sending the data from the first to the second radio apparatus, the advertisement comprising a corresponding proposition/evaluation bit for each second channel, receiving a reply from the second radio apparatus over the first channel, comprising an acceptance of one of the second channels with the corresponding proposition/evaluation bit, a rejection of the second channel and an advertisement of a third channel, or a rejection of the second channel without an advertisement of a third channel, and transmitting the data from the first to the second radio apparatus over an agreed upon second or third channel.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2015Publication date: June 25, 2015Inventors: Kaveh GHABOOSI, Matti LATVA-AHO
