  • Patent number: 7809360
Abstract: Real-time optimization of one or more events in an electronic agenda, an electronic itinerary, an electronic calendar, or an electronic route plan, by receiving an electronic personal plan for a first user having wireless connectivity service need indications during event(s) of the plan; receiving electronic reports from devices operated by users other than the first user indicating actual historical availability conditions of the required wireless connectivity at a location associated with the event of the plan; analyzing the electronic historical reports to find an alternate time, location, route, or combination of time, location, and route, for an event responsive to determining the needed wireless connectivity would not likely meet a service quality preference according to the historical availability; modifying the electronic personal plan to reflect the alternate finding to the first user; and transmitting a communique to said first user containing said alternate findings.

  • Publication number: 20080104176
Abstract: A method of controlling bulk mail processing equipment through previewing bulk mail to intended recipients. Intended recipients view proposed mail piece front panel information prior to the actual production of the mail pieces. Intended recipients indicate which pieces of a mail are acceptable to receive, and which would be rejected if received. The recipients' choices are collected and reported to the bulk mailer, which information is then utilized to control actual production of bulk mail pieces, such as avoiding printing address labels to recipients who have indicated no desire to receive such pieces.

  • Publication number: 20080048826
Abstract: A system, automated method, and article of manufacture storing software which enables certain safeguards within a controlled space as a tracked occupant moves about the space. For example, a child visitor to a hospital room is protected by assigning an Radio Frequency Identification badge upon registration. The RFID location is tracked, and certain safeguards, such as disabling hot water valves, high voltage sources, bed power adjustments, and locking instrument panels, are enacted as the child visitor enters the room. Using occupant roles, administrators can easily assign permissions and protective rules to each person.

  • Publication number: 20070299545
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium encoded with software for monitoring and controlling a bath liquid, such as the wash water in a clothes washing machine, using a light source to illuminate the wash water, a light sensor for receiving light transmitted through or reflected off of the wash water, a light color measurer, and a controller that takes a color bleed abatement action upon detection of excessive color in the bath liquid. The abatement actions may include halting or slowing agitation, halting or slowing tub movement, draining the wash water, filling the tub with fresh water, and alerting the user of a color bleed event. Color transfer inhibitors, color scavengers, or both, may be automatically introduced into the wash water to counter the color bleed action as well.
