Patent number: 10487542Abstract: An electronic lock and system particularly for replacing existing mechanical locks for enclosures including gaming devices are disclosed herein. According to one embodiment, the gaming device includes a cabinet having a chassis and a main gaming device door locked by a mechanical lock. The electronic lock is configured to have a profile to replace the existing mechanical locks and includes a rotatable bolt receiving a sleeve. In a retained and locked position the sleeve is within the lock barrel and an operator is nested in a pocket in the barrel head. Upon receiving a command a motor rotates a cam and the sleeve is released to axially move to release the operator from the pocket for rotation of the sleeve and bolt to unlock the door. Sensors sense for fault conditions. Authentication is required to provoke the opening command. Opening events may be logged at a system server or local memory.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2016Date of Patent: November 26, 2019Assignee: Bally Gaming, Inc.Inventors: Kay Daniel Vetter, Joseph R. Publication number: 20160023044Abstract: A sports monitoring system and method. One disclosed system can be used during skiing and includes a controller transceiver that can be hand held, two ski boot pressure monitor/transmitters, and earphones connectable to the controller/transceiver. The system can be used to provide, through the earphones, sound indicative of pressure applied or not applied by a skier toward a portion of a boot while skiing. The system may also include a proximity sensor mounted within one of the ski boot pressure monitor/transmitters. The system can thereby provide sound responsive to the proximity detector's detection of one boot being at or not at a distance, or within or outside of a distance range, with respect to the other boot.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2015Publication date: January 28, 2016Inventors: Chris Norcross Bender, Roger S. Patent number: 8641144Abstract: A bi-plate ball bearing is configured for horizontally mounting between a base and a chair. The ball bearing has an upper plate and a lower plate defining a ball bearing race and a tension member holding the plates together disposed through a central rotational axis of the bi-plate ball bearing. The tension member may be configured as a threaded metal tube fixed to a first one of the upper plate and the lower plate and held to a second one of the upper plate and the lower plate by a nut. The threaded metal tube defines a passage through the central rotational axis of the bi-plate ball bearing through which power and control wiring may pass. The bearing may provide a cost-effective swivel bearing for chair that includes powered electronics, for which it is desired to pass wiring from the swiveling chair into a chair base.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2010Date of Patent: February 4, 2014Inventors: Wendell R. Davis, Jr., Dale Robert Lundeen, Kay Daniel Vetter

Patent number: 7832799Abstract: A locking support assembly for a casino chair uses a support plate with a chair mount having a fixed pin protruding upwards from the support plate opposite to the mount. The pin may serve as a sole or primary guide member in the support plate to guide the support plate into horizontal alignment with a latch mounted inside a beam. The beam holds the support plate in close but unlocked engagement by a lower groove, to resist loads imposed by an attached chair. A releasable latch inside the beam receives the pin to provide locked engagement between the support plate and the beam. The beam may be fastened to a vertical surface of a gaming machine or other object. The support plate and attached chair can be released from the beam by inserting a tool through a keyhole in the beam to release the latch, while pulling the support plate outwards.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2009Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Assignee: Gary Platt Manufacturing, LLCInventors: Wendell R.
