  • Patent number: 11698084
Abstract: A pump of a dishwasher has an integrated heating element, a pump chamber with an inlet and an outlet, a pump rotor inside the pump chamber and a drive motor, wherein the heating element and a temperature sensor are provided on a wall of the pump chamber. For measuring a calcification of the pump chamber it is filled with water and then the pump rotor rotates for mixing the water in the pump chamber without transporting water out of the pump chamber. The temperature of the water in the pump chamber is measured with the temperature sensor as a starting temperature, and then the heating element is activated to heat the water in the pump chamber while the temperature of the water in the pump chamber is measured. Then the heating element is deactivated and the maximum temperature of the water during the heating duration or directly afterwards is determined. A temperature relation between the maximum temperature and the starting temperature of the water is calculated.

  • Publication number: 20230091878
Abstract: A heating device for a hob has a flat carrier having a heating conductor side with heating conductors thereon and a switching device, the switching device having a movable switching contact and a mating contact associated therewith. The switching device has a switching arm movable in itself, said switching arm carries the switching contact and is electrically connected to an electric arm connecting means. The switching arm is fastened on the carrier and is formed from a bimetal strip. The mating contact is electrically connected to an electric mating connection means and fastened on the carrier. Switching arm, switching contact and mating contact are designed and arranged such that when a pre-defined switching temperature is exceeded, the switching contact and the mating contact are brought together, triggering a switching operation as a hot indicator for the hob, by the movement of the switching arm due to increasing heat.

  • Publication number: 20220333880
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a device for reducing fouling in tubes of a heat exchanger and heat exchangers including such anti-fouling device(s). The anti-fouling device includes an elongated displacement body insertable in the heat exchanger tube to reduce the flow cross-sectional area in a portion of the tube. It further includes a mount connected to the elongated displacement body for attaching the device to an end of the heat exchanger tube. The mount is configured to hold the displacement body, when inserted into the tube, in a spaced relationship to the inner surface of the tube. The disclosed anti-fouling devices effectively reduces fouling in heat exchangers in a reliable manner over an extended period of time without requiring maintenance or external controls, can be provided at relatively low cost, is easily installable and can be retrofitted also to existing heat exchangers.

  • Publication number: 20210396599
Abstract: A heating device comprising a temperature measuring device has a sheet-like carrier, at least one heating conductor on said sheet-like carrier, an elongate electrode on the sheet-like carrier and a layer structure on the carrier with an insulation layer between the heating conductor and the electrode. A measuring apparatus for detecting local high temperatures at the heating device is connected to the electrode and to the heating conductor. Said measuring apparatus detects a temperature-dependent leakage current through the insulation layer between the heating conductor and the electrode and evaluates this as a measure of a local change in temperature at the heating device. The electrode consists of a material with a temperature dependence of its electrical resistance of between 0.0005/° C. and 0.01/° C. in a temperature range of between 0° C. and 200° C.

  • Patent number: 11066771
Abstract: A washing machine has a drum, a sump underneath the drum, a water circulation including an extractible drawer for introducing detergent or additives, the water circulation being in fluid connection to detecting means for detecting microfibers or contamination in the water and a circulation pump and pipes for circulating water. A method for its operation comprises the steps of branching off an amount of water circulating in the circulation and transporting it to the detecting means for being analyzed and analyzing the water in the detecting means. Depending on the result of this analysis, a filtering process with filtering means for filtering out the microfibers from the water is activated. The microfibers that have been filtered out can be collected and then removed easily from the washing machine.

  • Patent number: 11041628
Abstract: In a method for controlling a cooking appliance having heating devices and an internal cooking appliance controller by means of an external control device which is arranged outside the cooking appliance and may be a mobile telephone, this external control device provides the cooking appliance controller with control commands. The external control device is classified by the cooking appliance controller either as an automatic control device or as a manual control device, wherein its control commands are implemented by the cooking appliance controller after the classification. A check is carried out continuously or at intervals during operation of the cooking appliance in order to determine whether the classification still applies.

  • Publication number: 20210180796
Abstract: In a method for operating a hob using a smartphone as external operating device, the presence of an operator close to the hob is queried, this being able to be performed by a presence sensor or by operating elements on the hob itself. If the operator is present at the hob, then all of the operating commands from the smartphone are implemented at the hob. As soon as the presence of the operator is no longer able to be recorded at the hob, either no further operating commands from the smartphone are implemented or only operating commands by way of which a power of a heating device of the hob is reduced are implemented.

  • Patent number: 11021837
Abstract: A tumble dryer has a drum for laundry, a drive motor for the drum, an air supply to the drum and an air discharge from the drum, a fan, including a fan drive, for generating an air stream to the drum through the air supply and away from the drum through the air discharge, and also heating means for heating the air stream. The temperature of and the moisture in the air which is discharged from the drum are detected. The profile of said temperature and moisture is compared with prespecification curves, which are stored in a memory, for the profile of said temperature and moisture by means of calculation means depending on the drying phase of the laundry. The operating point of the prespecification curve at which the drying program is located is determined in this way. The control arrangement influences the further drying program, on the basis of the operating point, by way of adjusting the temperature and/or the intensity of the air stream.

  • Patent number: 10996116
Abstract: In a method for determining a temperature of a revolving drum of a laundry dryer, said drum has an outer wall and thereon at least one strip-shaped delimited detection region comprising thermochromic material having a transition temperature in the range of a temperature that is to be expected and to be determined. Optical detection means arranged adjacent to the revolving part are configured, in particular as a reflected light barrier, to detect the color transition of the thermochromic material in the event of the transition temperature being exceeded or undershot. At the revolving drum the thermochromic material or, if appropriate, the color transition thereof is detected by means of the detection means. A temperature of the drum is then determined as corresponding to the transition temperature in such a way that the temperature thereof is determined as corresponding to one of the two temperature ranges below the transition temperature or above the transition temperature.

  • Publication number: 20190364619
Abstract: In a method for the production of a heating device, comprising a support that is curved along one direction and at least one flat thick film heating element disposed thereon, the support and/or the heating device itself are processed from a tube, in particular a circular-cylindrical tube. For that purpose a tube wall is severed in one direction which does not exclusively have a peripheral direction component so that the support is not a circumferential tube. The thick film heating element can be applied before or after the severing.
