  • Patent number: 7938688
Abstract: An electric cable device includes an electric cable, and a plug component. The plug component includes a terminal body with a plurality of plug terminals, a hood component, and a plug body. The hood component is disposed around the terminal body. The hood component has a width measured in a first direction of the plug component. The width of the hood component is greater than a height of the hood component that is measured in a second direction of the plug component. The first direction is perpendicular to the second direction. The plug body is disposed around part of the hood component such that the hood component protrudes from the plug body in a third direction of the plug component with the third direction being perpendicular to the first and second direction. The plug body is asymmetrically formed relative to any of planes that are perpendicular to the second direction.

  • Patent number: 7813625
Abstract: A disc reproducing apparatus includes: a language setting section setting and storing a subtitle language; a menu language setting section setting and storing a menu language to be displayed in the menu screen in the first memory; and a second memory storing the subtitle language and the audio language used during contents reproduction. The menu language setting section has a first setting item, by which the menu language is set to the same language as the subtitle language stored in the second memory, and a second setting item, by which the menu language is set to the same language as the audio language stored in the second memory, displays the first and second setting items before one or a plurality of language selection items that are displayed in a list in a setting screen, and when the first setting item or the second setting item is selected.

  • Patent number: 7403699
Abstract: At the time of stopping the first reproduction process, a main controller makes a RAM store audio identification information corresponding to the kind of audio having been reproduced in the preceding reproduction process. At the time of restarting reproduction process, the main controller so controls a demultiplexer as to extract, from the compressed audio data read out by the optical pickup, compressed audio data having the same audio identification information that the RAM stores. Subsequently, the main controller so controls the demultiplexer as to send the extracted compressed audio data to the audio decoder. Thus, in a DVD player which is absent of a DTS audio reproduction function or output function, compressed data of DTS audio can be prevented from being sent to an audio decoder, thereby the DVD player can be prevented from becoming unable to output audio.

  • Publication number: 20060133769
Abstract: A user selects a still-picture file (JPEG11, JPEG22, JPEG37, . . . ) to be reproduced, from a list of still-picture file information. Then, the user sets a reproduction time period (7 seconds, 5 seconds, 2 seconds, . . . ), a start display effect (fade, wipe, dissolve, . . . ) and an end display effect (scroll, fade, cut, . . . ) for the selected still-picture file. In this manner, desired start display effect and end display effect for each still-picture file can individually be set, so that a plurality of still-picture files can continuously be reproduced in various display patterns, and a manner of reproduction preferred by the user can be realized.

  • Patent number: 7035530
Abstract: In an apparatus for reproducing a DVD 800 in which recorded data and a region code (DC) for restricting the reproduction of the recorded data is recorded, the apparatus is arranged to include a recording means in which a player region code (PC) related to the DC is recorded; an information reading means which reads the PC recorded in the recording means and also reads the DC from the DVD 800 before reproducing the recorded data from the DVD 800; a comparing means which compares the PC with the DC each read from the information reading means; a determination means which determines whether the reproduction of the recorded data is to be allowed or not based on the comparison result of the comparing means; and a control means which stops the reproduction of the recorded data and outputs and displays the DC when the determination means determines that the reproduction of the recorded data is not allowed. The recording means is the memory of the control unit 400.

  • Publication number: 20050237436
Abstract: When an operation mode is changed into a demonstration mode by a mode changing unit, a guidance image outputting unit outputs a guidance screen on which names of keys attached to a remote controller and operation contents of a device body which can be used when the keys are depressed are correlated with each other. For this reason, a user can see the guidance screen to confirm the key on the remote controller and the operation contents of the device body. In a status where this guidance screen is being outputted, when a key on the remote controller is operated, a demonstration unit demonstrates an operating procedure when the function corresponding to the operated key is used.
