  • Patent number: 10570670
Abstract: A wellbore formation system includes a downhole cutting tool having a body and at least one cutting element. A sensor is coupled to the downhole cutting tool, and the sensor includes a transmitter configured to transmit a signal prior to wear on a portion of the downhole cutting tool reaching a first amount. The sensor ceases transmission of the signal when the wear on the portion of the downhole cutting tool reaches the first amount.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 24, 2014
Date of Patent: February 25, 2020
    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.
Inventors: Jay Stuart Bird, Kazi M. Rashid
  • Patent number: 10167715
Abstract: Mechanisms for induction-based resistivity measurements can be provided for use in geo-steering in a drilling operations environment. An antenna assembly can provide effective protection for antenna sections without hindering propagation of electromagnetic signals. The antenna assembly can include a bobbin disposed about a collar of a tool string; an antenna disposed on an outer surface of the bobbin; an outer adhesive layer covering the antenna and at least a portion of the bobbin; and a protective layer disposed against the outer adhesive layer; wherein the outer adhesive layer fills a space radially between the bobbin and the protective layer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 20, 2015
Date of Patent: January 1, 2019
    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.
Inventors: Kazi M. Rashid, Michael J. Levchak, Alexei Korovin

  • Patent number: 9476270
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for shearing well drilling fluid mixtures containing an emulsifier, and utilizing pumping the fluids through a plurality of nozzles, reducing the size of the fluid droplets as they pass through the nozzles, discharging the fluid droplets into a output chamber where the emulsifier surrounds the smaller droplets with the nozzle discharges aligned to intersect in the stabilization chamber.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 1, 2011
Date of Patent: October 25, 2016
    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.
Inventors: Randolph Paul Istre, Kazi M. Rashid, Timothy N. Harvey, Harry Todd Lynch, Michael Alan Moore
