Abstract: An image forming apparatus for electrostatically transferring a latent image formed on a photoconductive drum or similar image carrier to a recording medium held by a clamp drum or similar medium conveying member. The clamp drum has a cylinder or base made of aluminum, a conductive rubber layer covering the cylinder, and an overcoat layer covering the rubber layer and higher in electric resistance than the rubber layer. A bias voltage for latent image transfer is applied while the rubber layer is connected to ground. The photoconductive drum and clamp drum are pressed against each other by a predetermined force, the former following the rotation of the latter. The photoconductive drum is provided with a photoconductor having a great electrostatic capacity, thereby preventing the effective transfer voltage at the time of image transfer from increasing.

Abstract: An electrostatic plotter or similar color image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium, e.g. a paper web being transported under tension by a transport roller pair by a head while sensing a register mark formed on the medium. The distance between the register mark and a register mark sensor and the distance between the paper web and the head are maintained constant.

Abstract: The structure of a sheet-like electrostatic recording medium which may be configured as a roll and connected to ground via an electrostatic recorder with which it is usable. A connecting member is provided on at least one of axially opposite ends of the roll of the recording medium and electrically connected to an external electrode which is mounted on the recorder.

Abstract: A color image forming apparatus of the type recording a register mark on a recording medium for registering the leading edges of images of respective colors to form a color image. The apparatus forms the register mark on the medium outside of the effective area of a main image and such that the mark extends perpendicular to an intended direction of medium feed. The register mark is developed in cyan and in the highest density to insure accurate register of colors. The register mark is cut off together with the leading edge of the medium.

Abstract: A developing apparatus using a liquid developer and a developing head located to face a path along which a recording medium carrying, for example, an electrostatic latent image thereon is transported. A groove is formed in the surface of the head that faces the transport path. After development, the liquid remaining at the corner defined by the upper inner portion of the groove and the medium is rapidly collected to allow a minimum of smear to occur on the part of the medium which will be transported later. When the transport of the medium should be interrupted during development due to, for example, a jam, the liquid in the groove is collected to prevent a great amount of liquid which would smear a drive roller and other transport members from being transferred from the head to the medium.

Abstract: Image forming equipment for performing a predetermined image forming operation by use of a stepwise drive source such as a stepping motor or pulse motor. Either one of a recording medium and a record head is driven by a pulse motor, and whether or not it has reached a predetermined position is determined. While such a decision as to the position of the recording medium or the record head is under way, the displacement per step is changed over to a displacement per step smaller than a displacement to be effected while the predetermined image forming operation is under way.

Abstract: An overhead projector comprises, a main body, a light source disposed in the main body for emitting a light, a Fresnel lens disposed on an upper surface of the main body, an internal mirror for reflecting the emitted light toward the Fresnel lens, disposed rotatably in the main body such that a portion of the internal mirror is protruded from a bottom of the main body to an outside of the main body upon a use of the projector and is accommodated in the main body upon a non-use of the projector, an arm connected with the main body at one longitudinal end thereof, a projection lens held by the other longitudinal end of the arm for focusing the reflected light which has passed through the Fresnel lens and an original for a projection placed on the Fresnel lens, and a projection mirror for directing the focused light from the projection lens toward a screen.
