  • Patent number: 5016394
Abstract: A glass runner structure is disclosed, which is disposed on an outer surface of an automotive door sash for guiding upward and downward movements of a window glass over the door sash. The structure comprises an elongate base portion of solid rubber which extends along the automotive door sash and is secured to the outer surface of the sash. An elongate outer wall portion is integral with the base portion, the outer wall portion projecting downward from an outside part of the base portion thereby to define a guide groove between the outer wall portion and the base portion. An elongate lip portion integral with the elongate outer wall portion extends downward from the same. A bridge portion of a flexible material spans between the outer wall portion and the base portion adjacent the elongated lip portion.

  • Patent number: 4420057
Abstract: An air induction structure is designed for an air cleaner on an automobile furnished with an engine compartment in its front body and a grille at its front end through which the engine compartment is open to the outside. The air induction structure includes an obstructing member, which is located in a position in which the obstructing member is across the substantially straight path connecting the opening of an air intake duct, connected to the air cleaner, and the part of the grille in the same vertical longitudinal planes, with respect to the automobile, as the opening of the air intake duct, so that the obstructing member prevents air, drawn into the engine compartment through the part of the grille, from travelling straight into the opening of the air intake duct.

  • Patent number: 4332187
Abstract: An automotive air intake housing for introducing fresh air into an air conditioner includes a cowl box and an air box through which the fresh air passes, a dash side panel having two openings, one for communicating the cowl box with the air box and the other for communicating the air box with the air conditioner, and a wiring harness passing through the air box between the engine and passenger compartments. Since the wiring harness does not pass directly through the automobile firewall, but rather circumvents it by passing through the air intake housing, engine noise entering the passenger compartment is thereby reduced.

  • Patent number: 4243196
Abstract: In a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle a roof rail has a raised portion formed with an attachment surface substantially flush with the inside surface of a ceiling member exposed to the passenger compartment. A mirror mounting bracket is attached to the raised portion of the roof rail at the attachment surface of the latter. A circumferential space formed between the roof rail and the bracket is not visible because of the ceiling member sandwiched between the roof rail and the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4236274
Abstract: Two contraction-expansion pieces each have one end thereof connected to a base plate secured to a main body containing therein an opening and the other end thereof connected to a base plate secured to a lid serving to open and close the opening of the main body. The two contraction-expansion pieces which are each provided with a constricted, flexible elbow portion are pivotally fastened independently of each other and arranged in a mutually crossing state. Consequently, the two contraction-expansion pieces and the two base plates jointly form a pantographic mechanism. When the lid which is locked to the main body to keep the opening in its closed state while holding the pantographic mechanism in its folded state is released from the main body, the pantographic mechanism automatically expands and the lid is consequently brought to a completely opened state.
