  • Publication number: 20170195105
Abstract: A signal is transmitted at a high speed in a direction opposite to a transmitting direction of a main large-capacity channel. A first transmitting unit transmits a first signal including a clock component to an external device through a transmission path as a differential signal. A second transmitting unit superimposes a second signal including a clock component on the transmission path as an in-phase signal to transmit to the external device. A state notifying unit communicates with the external device through a pair of differential transmission paths included in the transmission path and notifies the external device of a connection state of its own device by a DC bias potential of at least one of the pair of differential transmission paths.

  • Publication number: 20170187466
Abstract: Lenses 311a that collect an entering light signal to a light transmission path or a light detection unit is provided in a plug housing 315 coupled to a transmission side optical connector of the light signal. In the housing 315, the light transmission path or the light detection unit is retained for each lens 311a. In the housing 315, attachment portions 316L, 316R that attach the housing 315 to the transmission side optical connector is provided in an array direction of a plurality of lenses. In the lenses 311a, an entrance range of the light signal that is collectable to the light transmission path or the light detection unit is expanded in a direction orthogonal to the array direction of the lenses. Even if force is exerted in a turning direction about an axis at the array direction LP of the lenses, the entering light signal can be collected to the light transmission path or the light detection unit, in order to perform robust optical communication.

  • Publication number: 20170184794
Abstract: A collimator lens 311 emits by converting a light signal from an optical fiber cable 20 to a collimated light, for example. The collimator lens 311 is retained in a plug housing 315 coupled to a reception side optical connector of the light signal. When the plug housing 315 is not coupled to the reception side optical connector, the pressing portion 313a sets the position of the collimator lens 311 at a position at which the emitted light signal has a predetermined divergence angle. When the optical connectors of the transmission side and the reception side are not connected, the light signal emitted from the optical connector of the transmission side is dispersed, and therefore emission of the light signal is prevented from giving a bad influence to a visual perception function or the like.

  • Publication number: 20170184795
Abstract: A lens 311 of a plug 31 converts a light signal from an optical fiber cable 20 to light of a predetermined divergence angle in order to emit the light. A plug housing 315 fixes the optical fiber cable 20 and the lens 311. The lens 311 is positioned such that the light signal from the optical fiber cable 20 becomes the light of the predetermined divergence angle at an emission surface 20a side of the optical fiber cable 20. The light signal emitted from the plug 31 becomes dispersed when entering into the eyeball of a nearby person, and therefore can be prevented from exerting adverse effect on visual function and the like.

  • Patent number: 9209570
Abstract: To provide a connector enabling high quality signal transmission while maintaining compatibility with the current HDMI connector, in a new HDMI interface using pins assigned to a shield, as a data pair. Each of signal electrode pins is arrayed near a shell (grounding conductor) so as to couple with the shell, and differential signals are transmitted with single end. A ground plane is disposed between multiple signal electrode pins of a first stage and the plurality of signal electrode pins of a second stage within a dielectric. Also, connection conductors electrically connecting the ground plane and the grounding conductor are disposed between each of the signal electrode pins of each of the stages within the dielectric. With a pair of signal electrode pins transmitting differential signals, crosstalk from other signal electrode pins can be reduced, and high quality signal transmission is enabled.

  • Publication number: 20150325201
Abstract: Damaging a device that is not compatible with a functional extension is to be avoided. A signal is transmitted to an external device through a transmission channel. A data block containing capability information indicating existence/non-existence of compatibility with an extended function is received from the external device through the transmission channel. A layer field that indicates the connection layer is provided in this data block. A check is made to determine whether all the devices existing in the path are compatible with the extended function based on the value of the layer field provided in the data block, and the contents of the transmission signal are then determined.
