  • Patent number: 6275190
Abstract: A method of detecting a position of a radio mobile station in radiocommunications, which is capable of accurately and simply finding the position of the mobile station. At a measuring point the mobile station measures the reception radio strength levels from a plurality of base stations and conveys the measurement results through the base station to a control station. The control station learns, through a neural network, the correlation between the reception radio strength levels and the position of the mobile station on the basis of the measurement results at a plurality of measuring points and the positions of the measuring points. Subsequently, when the mobile station communicates to the control station the reception radio strength levels measured at an arbitrary point, the control station estimates the position of the mobile station, causing those measurement results, on the basis of the correlation obtained through the learning.

  • Patent number: 5603762
Abstract: A process is disclosed for producing a film of an oxide type single crystal on a substrate of such an oxide type single crystal by epitaxially growing the oxide type single crystal on the substrate through contacting the substrate onto a melt in an overcooled state. The substrate of the oxide type single crystal is contacted with the melt held in a first furnace, and the substrate of the oxide type single crystal is held inside a second furnace separated from said first furnace, and the temperature of the substrate is adjusted in the second furnace. An oxide type single crystal film-producing apparatus is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5365264
Abstract: A bi-directional video signal transmission system is equipped with transmission lines having coupled upsteam and downstream segments. With the entire band of a RF signal being taken as a modulation frequency band, an image signal modulated to a frequency band and RF-multiplexed in the upstream segment is introduced into the downstream segment at the modulated frequency and is then branched to demodulate the same frequency band, thereby obtain one video signal transmission channel. In response to a request by a subscriber, a channel management section assigns and releases the transmission channels and further outputs a control command whereby a transceiver control section performs switching-control of the transmission frequencies to transceiver units.

  • Patent number: 4625514
Abstract: A heater head assembly for a Stirling-type engine has a cylinder and a regenerator housing each of which includes a manifold as an integral part thereof, and heater tubes inserted at one end into the cylinder manifold and at the other end into the regenerator housing manifold linking the cylinder and regenerator housing. Each manifold is broadened longitudinally on the heater tube side so that a working gas flow passage defined by the inner wall thereof has a longitudinal width greater than the inner diameter of the corresponding cylinder or regenerator housing. The inner wall of each manifold makes a smooth, gradual and successive transition from the broader portion of the manifold on the heater tube side to the inner wall of the narrower corresponding cylinder or regenerator housing without forming a sudden constriction in the working gas flow passage.

  • Patent number: 4615378
Abstract: A regenerator includes a cylindrical body and a plurality of improved wire mesh screens stacked inside the cylindrical body. Each wire mesh screen includes a number of interwoven wires that overlap one another at the cross points of the wire mesh screen, with the overlapping wires being compressed at the cross points in the direction in which the wire mesh screens are stacked. This shortens the distance between the central axes of the overlapping wires at the cross points in the stacking direction so that a greater number of the wire mesh screens may be stacked in the cylinder.
