An inkjet printer (10) that carries out printing by ejecting ink droplets includes an inkjet head (18) having plural nozzles and plural actuators provided corresponding one to each nozzle, a head control digital signal output unit (108) that outputs a head control digital signal, a digital amplifier (14) that outputs an amplified control signal, which is a signal wherein the head control digital signal has been amplified, a smoothing filter (16) that has plural capacitors and, by smoothing the amplified control signal using at least one portion of the plural capacitors, generates a drive waveform signal, and a capacity specification signal output unit (106) that outputs a capacity specification signal specifying capacitors to be used in smoothing the amplified control signal.
