    Abstract: A charging device includes a first connection portion, a charge controller, a power supply circuit and a second connection portion. A secondary battery is connectable to the first connection portion. The charge controller is configured to control selected one of a charging voltage and a charging current. The power supply circuit is configured to supply the charge controller with power. The second connection portion is connectable to external power supply. Supplying power is halted to place the charge controller in a power cutoff state during a period of time from a time when the external power supply is connected to the second connection portion to a time when the secondary battery is connected to the first connection portion and also during a period of time from a time when the secondary battery has become fully charged to a time when the secondary battery is disconnected from the first connection portion.
