  • Patent number: 5412400
Abstract: A window displaying method suited to the monitoring and operating of the runs of a plant is provided. A display area whose display content is comparatively unimportant is selected from within each of a number of process monitoring frames, and it is registered beforehand as a window area capable of opening a window. In a window display mode, the window is opened in the registered window area, and a window frame is displayed in the window. Thus, an appropriate window display which does not hamper necessary monitoring information can be automatically realized without the operator's needing to carry out window movement, etc. Individual areas for the respective run stages of the process of the plant may well be registered as such window areas.

  • Patent number: 5298559
Abstract: A multi-layered polymer having (a) a core layer of an aromatic vinyl polymer, (b) an intermediate layer of a butadienic rubbery polymer and (c) an outer layer of an aromatic vinyl glassy polymer, the amount of the components (a), (b) and (c) being 12 to 42 weight %, 48 to 78 weight % and 10 to 40 weight %, respectively, provides a thermoplastic resin composition excellent not only in impact strength, especially in impact strength at low temperatures, but also in, in the case of containing a coloring agent, color-stability including less mottlings, and giving a molded article improved in preventing occurrence of delamination around the gate region.

  • Patent number: 5288801
Abstract: A polycarbonate resin composition comprising (a) an aromatic polycarbonate resin, (b) a rubber-polyester block copolymer comprising an aliphatic diene-based rubber having at one or both ends thereof a polyester structural unit formed by ring-opening polymerization of an aliphatic lactone with the aliphatic diene-based rubber, and (c) an inorganic filler.

  • Patent number: 5206299
Abstract: There is disclosed a core-shell polymer which comprises:(a) a core comprising an elastomeric polymer having a glass transition temperature of not more than -30.degree. C. in an amount of 50-90% by weight;(b) an intermediate layer comprising a polymer having a glass transition temperature of not less than 60.degree. C. in an amount of 5-30% by weight; and(c) a shell comprising an aromatic vinyl polymer in an amount of 5-30% by weight, each based on the core-shell polymer, and the total of the core, the intermediate layer and the shell amounting to 100% by weight.Preferably, the core is composed of polybutadiene or polyalkyl acrylate wherein the alkyl has 2-8 carbon atoms, the intermediate layer of polymethyl methacrylate and the shell of polystyrene.A high impact polyphenylene ether resin composition is further disclosed which contains such a core-shell polymer as an impact modifier.

  • Patent number: 4583224
Abstract: A redundant control system in which three output signals from three equivalent signal processors are compared with each other to judge whether each of the output signals is normal or abnormal, an abnormal output signal thus determined is replaced by a set signal having a predetermined level, and then a majority operation is performed for normal output signals and the set signal to obtain a control signal. The control signal is formed of the logical product or logical sum of two normal output signals according as the predetermined level of the set signal is "1" or "0". In the case where a circuit for generating the above-mentioned control signal are formed in triplicate and a majority operation is performed for three control signals, a fault occurring at other circuit portions than a majority logic circuit at the final stage is permissible.

  • Patent number: 4246118
Abstract: An apparatus for separating suspended solids from a liquid includes a tank, a floating bed of granular filter material held at the upper portion of the tank at the time of filtration, a feed pipe for feeding the liquid at a position between a filtering section and a sedimenting section, a hollow member or members which are arranged within the tank at a position below the position of the filter bed but above the position of the feed pipe, an air supply pipe which blows air up through the hollow member or members, thereby creating a turbulence required for effective backwashing, an arrangement for bringing the filter bed down to a position where the lowermost surface of the filter bed is held below a position substantially flush with the top end of the hollow member or members, a means for discharging a filtrate from the tank which is arranged in the top portion thereof, and a means for discharging a deposit of the suspended solids from the tank, which is equipped at the bottom portion thereof.
