  • Publication number: 20160117198
Abstract: This invention implements appropriate load distribution in an event-processing system, that includes: a plurality of event generators that generate events and transmit the events to an allocation apparatus, and a plurality of allocation apparatuses that receive events from one or a plurality of event generators and transmit the received events to a processing apparatus. The load distribution apparatus includes an acquiring unit that is configured to acquire a reception status, or a transmission status, these status representing information about receiving or transmitting of the events. The load distribution apparatus also includes an updating unit that is configured to update the allocation apparatus specified for the specific event generator to another allocation apparatus, on the basis of the reception status or the transmission status, so that a load applied to the allocation apparatus is leveled among the plurality of allocation apparatuses.

  • Publication number: 20150271252
Abstract: A rule distribution server, on the basis of event conditions, calculates the ID of a front-end network in which events matching the event conditions occur, and if all events matching each of the event conditions specified with an application rule occur at the same front-end network, the rule is registered with a processing server for the front-end network, and if the events do not occur, the rule is determined to be registered with a back-end processing server, whereupon, for rules registered in the back-end processing server, with a front-end processing server, at which events that match the event condition for each event condition occur, as a registration destination, a rule to transfer events matching the event condition to a back-end processing server is generated, and the application rule and the transfer rule are registered in the processing servers.

  • Publication number: 20150242253
Abstract: In an event processing system, a service level required for event processing is satisfied. A node information acquisition unit 110 acquires node information which includes information related to a connection destination node and performance information, from each of a plurality of nodes. Each of the plurality of nodes transfers an event or an event processing result to another connected node according to a transfer path. A node and path determination unit 120 determines a combination of an event processing node which is a node to perform the event processing and the transfer path from a source node from which an event is transmitted to a destination node to which an event processing result is transmitted, through one or more nodes including the event processing node, in such a way to satisfy a specified service level, on the basis of the node information.

  • Patent number: 8739185
Abstract: An event processing system which, even if large quantities of processing requests are generated from applications, may suppress the load growth of setting of a processing rule and a dispatch rule in event processing distribution, includes a plurality of local systems which receive an event from an event source and send a processing result of the event to an application server, and a dispatch rule distribution server which distributes a dispatch rule to the local systems. When receiving a processing rule from the application server, the local system generates the dispatch rule including own local system as a dispatch destination of the event.

  • Publication number: 20110252433
Abstract: An event processing system which, even if large quantities of processing requests are generated from applications, suppress the load growth of setting of a processing rule and a dispatch rule in event processing distribution is provided. The event processing system includes a plurality of local systems 100 which receive an event from an event source 150 and send a processing result of the event to an application server 160, and a dispatch rule distribution server 170 which distributes a dispatch rule to the local systems 100. When receiving a processing rule from the application server 160, the local system 100 generates the dispatch rule including own local system 100 as a dispatch destination of the event and sends it to other local system 100 via the dispatch rule distribution server 170. When the event is received from the event information source 150, the local system 100 dispatches it to other local system 100 according to the dispatch rule.

  • Patent number: 7856634
Abstract: In a load distribution system, a plurality of processing servers are installed and a context-dependent distributor is arranged in a stage before the processing servers such that a distribution rule is set to the distributor to appropriately distribute an event to an associated processing server, the event being necessary for the server to execute a processing rule set thereto. To achieve the processing distribution in a system of this type, a plurality of processing servers are disposed and an event processing distribution control unit sets event processing rules to the respective processing servers for individual applications. The distribution controller sets a distribution rule associated with context of an event to a distributor so that the event is distributed to an associated server beforehand designated to process the event. This makes it possible to accomplish load distribution for the processing servers.

  • Patent number: 7782766
Abstract: The present invention relates to a data collection system and a data collection method in a sensor network, enabling sensor modules to consume lower amounts of power. The base station transmits data collection request signals to one or more sensor modules which are lower than the base station by 1 in a tree structure. Each sensor module which has received the data collection request signal transfers the signal to one or more sensor modules which are lower than the module by 1. The base station regards the transfer of the signal as ACK for the data collection request signal transmitted therefrom to the sensor module which is lower than the base station by 1. The transmission of a data collection acknowledgement signal starts from a sensor module at the low-order end. When a sensor module receives the data collection acknowledgement signal from a downstream sensor module which is lower than the module by 1, the module transmits the signal to an upstream sensor module which is higher than the module by 1.

  • Patent number: 7336958
Abstract: A data transmission path establishing method for establishing a data transmission path from each device to a base station independently to thereby form a network with small devices which are required to consume lower amounts of power such as sensors, a radio communication network system and a sensor network system. A base station transmits detection signals to a plurality of radio devices. Each of the radio devices which have received the detection signal transmits detection response signals each including an identifier that uniquely identifies the device and doubling as a response signal and a detection signal for another radio device. Having received the detection response signal from a radio device, the base station recognizes the radio device as a radio device belonging to the station based on the identifier included in the detection response signal.

  • Patent number: 7301477
Abstract: Disclosed is a telemetering system that comprises a wireless base station and a number of wireless sensor nodes. Each wireless sensor node includes a solar cell, a sensor for producing observation data indicating a quantity being measured, a wireless interface for receiving the observation data from the sensor when the node is activated, and a time-schedule memory for storing time-schedule data. Control circuitry briefly activates its own node by supplying power from the solar cell to the wireless interface at periodic intervals according to the time-schedule data of the memory and briefly establishes a wireless link to the base station. During the time the wireless link is briefly established, the control circuitry of each node transmits the observation data to the base station and updates its time-schedule memory if it receives time-schedule data from the base station.

  • Publication number: 20070220305
Abstract: A multiplex server system is provided for processing events from clients in accordance with a plurality of set rules, with the intention of reducing the cost of a computer system which comprises spare servers. In the multiplex server system, a plurality of servers are provided, and a primary server and a secondary server are arbitrarily selected on a rule-by-rule basis. A server which is a primary server in which a rule has been set notifies a client of an event processing result at all times, whereas a server which is a secondary server in which a rule is set notifies the client of an event processing result only in the event of a failure of the primary server in which the rule has been set.

  • Patent number: 7227860
Abstract: A packet switch includes (a) a plurality of inputs into each of which a packet is input, (b) a switch which receives the packet from the input and switches an output through which the packet is transmitted, and (c) a scheduler which controls the switch. The scheduler (103) includes (c1) a shuffler (201) which shuffles an order of precedence in a first request transmitted from the input to transfer the packet, (c2) a schedule algorithm (202) which determines the output, based on the first request having the order of precedence having been shuffled by the shuffler, and produces a second request to transfer a packet which second request is associated with the first request having the order of precedence having been shuffled by the shuffler, and (c3) a re-shuffler (203) which turns an order of precedence of the second request to be identical with the order of precedence in the first request as found before having been shuffled by the shuffler, and returns the thus turned order of precedence back to the input.
