  • Patent number: 4328832
Abstract: An orifice apparatus is provided which couples a vacuum advancer of a distributor associated with an engine for a vehicle with a carburetor of the engine. The orifice apparatus includes a body having an upper and a lower opening between which an isolation wall is formed in which a plurality of orifices are circumferentially spaced apart at an equal angular interval. A plurality of orifice members are disposed below the isolation wall and each has an orifice of a different diameter formed therein which is located below one of the plurality of orifices. A rotary plate is disposed above the isolation wall and is secured to a regulating member in the form of a rotatable shaft. A seal member is bonded to the lower surface of the rotary plate, which is formed with a passage port which can be brought into alignment with one of the plurality of orifices formed in the isolation wall.

  • Patent number: 4254938
Abstract: A valve device includes a base board and a suction pressure responsive valve having two ports defined by tubular portions. The base board is composed of a pair of superimposed plates and a sealing gasket between the plates. One of the plates is formed with a pair of channels and the other with a pair of openings communicating with the channels, respectively. The sealing gasket has a pair of tubular portions disposed respectively in the openings of the base board plate with radial clearances. The tubular portions of the suction pressure responsive valve are sealingly inserted respectively into the tubular portions in the sealing gasket.

  • Patent number: 4239152
Abstract: A temperature responsive valve assembly comprises a valve for controlling the fluid communication between fluid inlet and outlet passages containing therein a fluid to be controlled, a valve operating member operatively connected to the valve for operating the same in response to the temperature of a control fluid for controlling the valve assembly. The valve operating member is thermally separated from the fluid in the inlet and outlet passages so that it may sense only the temperature of the control fluid for controlling the valve assembly and the fluid to be controlled.

  • Patent number: 4208994
Abstract: A thermally responsive valve composed of a first fluid passage whose inlet is connected to a carburetor advance port and whose outlet communicates with a chamber; a second fluid passage whose inlet communicates with the chamber and whose outlet is connected to an airtight chamber of a control valve; a bimetal in the chamber cooperating with a sealing member to close the outlet of the first passage when the temperature of the bimetal exceeds a predetermined value; and a one-way check valve disposed in second fluid passage to permit fluid flow from the first passage to the second passage. When the valve temperature exceeds a predetermined value, the bimetal will snap over to communicate the first and second passages so that the vacuum from the carburetor advance port can act upon the control valve.

  • Patent number: 4130267
Abstract: A pneumatic pressure responsive valve assembly for a pneumatic control system in a vehicle includes a power piston movable due to the pneumatic pressure difference between atmospheric pressure and a signaling vacuum pressure, which piston comprises a valve member cooperable with a valve seat. The valve member is slidably mounted with respect to the power piston. A weak spring disposed between the valve member and the power piston normally seats the valve member on the valve seat and movement of the power piston will unseat the valve member to provide a pneumatic control function.
