    Abstract: An NC data creation method by which the sequence of machining definition data can be changed to the sequence required by a user. A desired output sequence of machining command data is previously created as pattern definition data by a user executing a predetermined operation. Then, machining command data is input through an input screen as an interactive type input screen. A system processing unit reads the thus input machining command data and the pattern definition data, changes the sequence of the machining command data in accordance with the pattern definition data and outputs machining definition data. Therefore, NC data having the machining definition data provided with the output sequence desired by the user can be directly created. As a result, the sequence of the machining definition data need not be changed again and the NC data can be rapidly created.

The number of the rotary heads are increased from the standard two heads whereas the drum speed is made one half of N times standard speed and the drum diameter is made slightly larger from the standard so that the relative speed between the running tape and the rotating heads becomes equal to the standard in the double tape speed mode, and becomes twice that in the quadruple tape speed mode.

    Abstract: A magnetic recording and playback apparatus comprises a rotary drum (5) having a center of rotation inclined to the running direction of a magnetic recording tape (7), a group of first and second channel recording heads (1,3) and a group of first and second channel playback heads (2,4) mounted on an outer periphery of the rotary drum (5) at an angular interval of substantially 90 degrees, the positions of the recording and playback heads alternating along the outer periphery. The axial distance between the recording head group and the playback head group is set to a value of approximately 7/4 times the track pitch Tp of consequently formed tracks. The first and second channel recording heads alternately form first and second tracks in sequence on the magnetic recording tape, and after the second track is formed by the second recording head, a recorded signal on the first track is outputted by being traced with the first channel playback head.
