  • Publication number: 20060115096
Abstract: An adaptive noise reduction method and apparatus capable of reducing efficiently variable period noise from a main input is provided. A variable period pulse signal and a sampling clock are supplied to a counter 32 within an adaptive signal processor 30, where an input period is counted by the sampling clock and the counted value is supplied to a timing generator 34. From the timing pulse, a variable read-address generator 33 generates in turn Xv addresses 0 to M and a write-address generator 35 generates in turn Xk?1 addresses 0 to M, respectively, and the results are input to an accumulator 36 as the read address and write address. A product 2?Ek of an error signal Ek multiplied by a step gain ? and data Wk read from the address Xk are input to an adder 38, whose output signal is delayed by a unit sample time 37 and is written into Xk?1 address. An adaptive coefficient Wv is read from Xv address and input to a (?) terminal of an adder 9 through a data interpolation means 39.

  • Publication number: 20050238183
Abstract: An object is to provide an automatic wind noise reducing circuit and an automatic wind noise reducing method, which are capable of coping with a multichanneling trend of audio signals, and improving performance as well as the degree of freedom in system design. Arithmetic units (26, 27, 28) obtain added signals of audio signals of audio channels excluding respective selected audio channels, which are selected so as to be different from each other. Arithmetic units (29, 30, 31) subtract respective added signals of the arithmetic units (26, 27, 28) from corresponding audio signals of the selected audio channels. The subtraction signals from the arithmetic units (29, 30, 31) are subjected to a band limit control and limited to a frequency band of a wind noise signal by LPFs (21, 23, 25).

  • Publication number: 20050234715
Abstract: An apparatus for reducing noise includes a comparator for generating a noise timing signal corresponding to a noise producing period of noise introduced from a noise source and contained in an audio signal, a gap time generator for generating a gap period in which to remove noise from the audio signal, a selector switch for selectively outputting the audio signal and a noise-removed signal, a level detector for detecting a signal level of the audio signal, and a masking degree determining unit for determining from the signal level detected by the level detector a gap period for which the audio signal is masked by the human auditory system. The selector switch outputs the noise-removed signal in a period corresponding to the gap period within the noise producing period of the noise timing signal, and outputs the audio signal in other than the gap period.

  • Patent number: 5805469
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining an interpolated value for an audio data error sample included within a plurality of audio data samples. The audio data error sample may be replaced with the determined interpolated value so as to conceal the error sample. Such method and apparatus involves detecting an error pattern which corresponds to the presence or absence of errors of a number of data samples before and after the error sample to be concealed, obtaining coefficients based upon the detected error pattern, and processing the audio data samples and coefficients in a manner corresponding to an interpolating equation of an nth degree (where n=1, 2, 3 . . . ) so as to obtain the interpolated value. Such interpolating equation may correspond to a Lagrange polynomial equation.
