  • Patent number: 6816164
Abstract: A method is provided by which a texture is created by layering previously stored patterns and by applying a desired color to each layered pattern. The patterns are layered into an accumulation buffer which converts the layered patterns of selected colors into a bitmap image representative of the particular texture created by the layering and color selection process. The texture drawing is temporarily stored in the accumulation buffer, and is later mapped onto a three-dimensional model or character image for display.

  • Patent number: 5502803
Abstract: When a line is drawn on a screen with a coordinate input pen in a specific shape, the shape of the line drawing is collated with a reference stroke stored in a gesture table. As a result, an edit instruction corresponding to the shape of the line drawing is specified and executed. This function is called a gesture editing function. Here, the coordinate system which is the most suitable for computing the editing position on the screen is selected according to a given edit instruction. Thus, displacement of an editing position due to shaking of the user's hand can be avoided, thereby accurately executing the edit instruction. Moreover, the combination between the reference stroke and the edit instruction in the gesture table can be changed as desired by a key-operation according to the use of the user. Thus, a more convenient gesture editing function for the user can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 5467458
Abstract: An optical character reader is provided, which comprises an input for allowing a plurality of commends to be input; a reading device for reading recorded data; a memory having a first region for storing read date, a second region for storing character data corresponding to the read data, and a third region for storing the character dates an output device for supplying at least one of the character data stored in the second region of the memory and the character data stored in the third region of the memory to the information processing device; and a data processor, when a memory command is input from the input, which stores the read data in the first region of the memory, converts the read data which is stored in the first region of the memory into character data, and stores the character data in the second region of the memory, and when a read command is input from the input, which transfers the character data stored in the second region of the memory to the third region.

  • Patent number: 5105381
Abstract: A word processor incoporating: for executing line decisions by allowing the operator to select nonpermissible characters used in identifying prohibited characters in the line-head, line-end, and line-head/line-end portion of an inputted sentence. The disclosed word processor includes a first memory for storing nonpermissible characters by dividing them into a plurality of groups; keys designating specific groups of nonpermissible characters; a second memory for storing information denoting groups of designated nonpermissible characters; a line-head and/or line-end identification circuit; and a line decision circuit which executes line decisions against the designated groups of nonpermissible characters in accordance with the contents of the second memory when line-head or line-end position is identified by the line-head and/or line-end identification circuit.

  • Patent number: 5053988
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes a plurality of function keys and character input keys, a display for displaying inputted data; and card data group storage device for storing a plurality of card data including numerical data. The card data has a capacity capable of displaying one picture of the display device at one time and can be grouped with other card data through a link data. A card data group specified by the activated keys is read from the card data group storage devices. The numerical data contained in the card data of the selected card data group is processed by various calculations inputted by the function keys. This apparatus further includes a judging/readout circuit for reading out other card data groups associated with the previously readout card data group from the card data group storage device when a judgement concerning the link data attached to each of the card data groups is made.
