  • Patent number: 4676479
Abstract: A valve body containing a ball valve member and having a threaded portion on the outer surface of an end portion thereof is connected with a body cap having a flange integral therewith on the outside end, by screwing a cap nut having an annular rib on the inner surface of the outside end thereof on the threaded portion of the valve body. A split ring is inserted into the space between the body cap and the cap nut. The split ring consists of two divided ring elements. Each ring element is provided with a fitting projection to be fitted into an annular groove of the body cap, on the inner surface of the outside end, and a collar-like projection is provided on the outer surface of the inside end. Both ends of the inner surface of the fitting projection of the ring element are cut off at the corners. The body cap is connected with the valve body by pushing the annular rib of the cap nut against the collar-like projection of the split ring and screwing the cap nut onto the threaded portion of the valve body.

  • Patent number: 4605202
Abstract: A ball valve for controlling liquid flow that comprises a tubular valve body, a ball rotatably built-in inside of the valve body, a pair of unions screwed into opposite ends of the valve body so as to be in slidable contact with the ball, and a pair of body caps connected to outer ends of each union through a packing ring for providing a water-tight seal therebetween. This valve have no cavities therein which cavities tend to entrap the liquid during the passage thereof. According to this construction the valve is kept always clean and free from any contamination caused by the putrescence of the entrapped liquid, even when used in the food industry.

  • Patent number: 4545565
Abstract: A diaphragm valve suitable for the food industry, including a valve body (1) and body caps (2) connected to opposite ends thereof in a detachable but water-tight manner. Sealing between the valve body (1) and the body cap (2) is provided by an annular groove (16) recessed on the end surface of the valve body (1) and/or the body caps (2) and packing rings (17) having an inner diameter corresponding to that of the valve body (1) and provided with an annular protrusion (18) fitted to the groove (16). By this sealing, a gap between the opposite surfaces of the valve body (1) and the body cap (2) is completely eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4458878
Abstract: The invention starts from such a conventional ball valve assembly which includes a valve body, a valve ball, each pair of unions, body caps and cap nuts arranged symmetrically at the both sides of the said valve ball. There are provided retaining plates or pins extending laterally for positioning the unions relative to the valve body. These small retainer plates or pins are inserted through perforations formed through the wall of the valve body. In addition, the unions are formed with ring grooves adapted for receiving the root portions of these retainer plates or pins.

  • Patent number: 4411407
Abstract: The invention relates to a disposable ball valve assembly mainly composed of a ball valve member made of a plastic resin material, a valve stem made of a plastic resin material and coupled with the ball valve member, and a valve body having a valve cavity formed therein for movably mounting the ball valve member. For improving the disposability, the valve body is substantially composed of a first body element made of a plastic resin material and having a portion thereof shaped to define a female connection, and a second body element made of a plastic resin material and having a portion thereof shaped to define a male connection inserted into the female connection. These first and second body elements are permanently coupled and rigidly interconnected to each other by these two connections with the end of the male connection being spaced from an interior portion of the first body element to define therebetween a valve chamber holding the ball valve member for the establishment of the disposability.

  • Patent number: 4286622
Abstract: The invention resides in a check ball valve assembly including a main valve body member taking the form of a rigid combination of a hollow cylindrical body element and a pipe coupling member at one end of the body element. The main valve body contains therein a movable ball valve member. In this valve assembly a further or second pipe coupling member is detachably connected at the opposite end of the body element. A resilient or elastomeric, double-functioning sealing member is positioned between the body element and the second pipe coupling and is so shaped and arranged to execute at its inside a detachable sealing function with the ball valve member and at the same time to execute at its outside a sealing function between the main valve body and the detachable pipe coupling member. The valve assembly further includes a retainer ring positioned stationarily behind the sealing member when seen in the regular fluid passage direction of the valve assembly.
