Abstract: An oil seal for reciprocation motion including a seal main body, a resin backup ring, and a holding member. The seal main body includes a seal lip that can be in sliding contact with a reciprocating shaft. The backup ring is disposed such as to support the seal lip from the atmosphere side to ensure durability of the seal lip. In the backup ring, at least a single annular groove is provided on the inner peripheral surface opposing the reciprocating shaft. The annular groove can hold a lubricating material. The holding member holds the backup ring between the holding member and the seal main body in a sandwiched-state. The inner peripheral surface of the backup ring forms a taper that increases in diameter from a sealed side towards an atmosphere side in the axial direction.

Abstract: In a rotary damper including a shaft, a pair of side panels which pivotally support the shaft while allowing the shaft to rotate in the circumferential direction, a case which is held between the side panels and forms a pressure chamber therein, a vane which is provided in the shaft, has a distal end in sliding contact with the inner periphery of the case and divides the pressure chamber into a first chamber and a second chamber, and a side plate which is interposed between the vane and at least one of the side panels and are more excellent in abrasion resistance than the side panels.

Abstract: A damping force generating valve of a hydraulic shock absorber is provided with: a piston portion (6) in a hydraulic shock absorber; an extension side port and a pressure side port drilled in the piston portion (6); and a plurality of leaf valves (5a, 5b, 12, and 15) which are seated so at to be capable of opening and closing one of the extension side port and the pressure side port, which are disposed in the piston portion (6) in a stacked state, and which are fixed to an inner circumferential side. At least one leaf valve (12) of the plurality of leaf valves (5a, 5b, 12, and 15) has a thin sheet valve body (19) and a thick portion (16) provided along a circumferential direction in an intermediate portion of the thin sheet valve body (19), or in an outer edge side of the thin sheet valve body (19), contacting adjacent leaf valves (5a and 15).
