  • Publication number: 20020145494
Abstract: In an electromagnetic switch of a starter, a bobbin has two terminal holders on a flange. Each of the terminal holders defines a slot on its end surface and a terminal is press-fitted in the slot in an axial direction of the bobbin. An end of an excitation coil wound around the bobbin is pulled out the bobbin and connected to the terminal. A molded cover provides a through hole and is mounted on the terminal so that the terminal passes through the through hole. A sealing member is press-fitted on the terminal to air-tightly seal the through hole. A rod cover fitted on a rod supporting a movable contact has slits on its cylindrical part in the axial direction. The slits are closed before a distal end of the cylindrical part.

  • Publication number: 20020067231
Abstract: In a magnetic switch for a starter motor, a magnetic core member providing a magnetic flux path is composed of separate components: a first core, a cylindrical yoke and a second core, all contained in a cup-shaped frame in close contact to one another. The first core is forcibly inserted into the cup-shaped frame, and the cylindrical yoke formed by rounding a flat plate into a C-shaped body having a small opening is also forcibly inserted in the cup-shaped frame by squeezing the small opening. The separate components are firmly pressed to each other by an axial force generated by caulking an open end of the cup-shaped frame. A switch cover is connected to the magnetic core member not to loosen the axial force connecting the components. Thus, magnetic resistance increase in the magnetic flux path formed by separate components is effectively suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5329340
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a first toner container storing a toner to be supplied to a developing device, and a second toner container storing a toner to be supplemented to the first toner container. A first and a second sensor are mounted on the wall of the first toner container at a comparatively high level and a comparatively low level, respectively. When the first sensor senses the absence of the toner, the toner is supplemented from the second toner container to the first toner container. When the second sensor senses the absence of the toner, the toner supplementing ability is increased to increase the amount of toner supplement from the second toner container to the first toner container.

  • Patent number: 5216468
Abstract: An illuminating device incorporated in a copier for illuminating the entire image surface of a document laid on a glass platen by a plurality of flash lamps. The voltages to be applied to the flash lamps and, therefore, the quantities of light to issue from the lamps, are controlled to illuminate the image surface of a document in a uniform illuminance distribution. Even when use is made of a document having a fraction of another document adhered thereto, shadows ascribable to the edges of the fraction or patch do not appear.

  • Patent number: 5164772
Abstract: An image forming apparatus using optics including a lamp and capable of operating in an enlarge mode even when the voltage to the lamp exceeds a limited voltage. While the apparatus is operated in an enlarge mode, the limitation of the voltage to the lamp can be cancelled on an operation and display panel. When the sum of the voltage to the lamp and a voltage elevation for a magnification change mode is greater than the a set voltage assigned to the lamp 102, the remaining number of copies undergoing image forming processing and the limited number of copies particular to an enlarge mode are compared. If the remaining number is greater than the limited number, an alarm inhibiting an enlarge mode is produced while an enlarge mode input is invalidated.
