  • Patent number: 4123896
Abstract: A digital electronic timepiece has normal time counting means and also a different time counting means, for example for local time in a different time zone or country. Electronic switching is provided for selectively displaying either the normal time or the different time. Each of the time counting means includes up-counting means and down-counting means so that under the control of corresponding setting means the time of either the normal time counting means or the different time counting means can be amended either upwardly or downwardly.

  • Patent number: 4104864
Abstract: An electronic timepiece comprising in combination: the first and secondary time counters, each having the function of 2, 4 hour measuring, which measures the signal of frequency which will be the basis for time measurement; the chronograph, having the function of 24 hour measuring to make the time measurement by measuring the signal of frequency which will be the basis for the above mentioned time measurement; and the display selecting circuit for displaying each enumerated data of the above mentioned first and secondary time counters and the chronograph selectively by the display device.

  • Patent number: 4095407
Abstract: An oscillation and dividing circuit having a level shifter for an electric timepiece comprises an oscillating circuit, a multi-stage dividing circuit for dividing the frequency of the oscillating circuit and a delay circuit. The outputs of the dividing circuit and the delay circuit are connected through a NAND circuit to the base of a P-FET of the level shifter circuit. The output of the oscillating circuit is connected through an inverter to one input terminal of the first stage of the dividing circuit and through a second inverter to the other input terminal. The output of one stage of the dividing circuit is connected as a control circuit to the delay circuit, thereby supplying a square wave control signal even if the oscillating circuit produces a distorted signal. The pulse width of the pulse applied to the level-shifter is hence constant in spite of poor functioning of the oscillating circuit and a high output voltage is attained.

  • Patent number: 4074515
Abstract: In a digital electronic timepiece, at least one of the digital displays changes color to indicate that the battery is nearing exhaustion. The display is made up of two sets of display elements, for example LEDs, disposed closely adjacent alongside one another. The two sets are of different display color, eg. red and green. Circuitry responsive to battery voltage causes display elements of one set to be illuminated when the battery voltage is normal and causes display elements of the other set to be illuminated when the battery voltage drops below a predetermined value. The resulting change in color of the display indicates that the battery is approaching the end of its life.

  • Patent number: 4061929
Abstract: A voltage boosting circuit comprises a plurality of units connected in sequence and each composed of a condenser and a plurality of MOS-FETs without any transformer or diode. The boosting circuit lends itself to miniaturization by integrated circuit technique.

  • Patent number: 4044544
Abstract: An electronic timepiece of the type having a display and a time-correcting switch for effecting correction of the displayed time is provided with a safety switch for enabling and disenabling the time-correcting switch. Whenever the safety switch is switched so as to enable the time-correcting switch, the displayed time on the display panel flashes at one second intervals thereby providing a visual indication of the enabled state of the time-correcting switch to thereby alert the timepiece user that actuation of the time-contacting switch will effect a time correction.

  • Patent number: 4045691
Abstract: A level shift circuit comprises an inverter connected to a first voltage supply source and supplied with an input pulse. A condenser and a directional switching element are connected in series between the output point of the inverter and one potential point of the first voltage supply source. The input of a first MOS-FET is connected to the output of the inverter while the input of a second MOS-FET is connected to a connection point between the condenser and the directional switching element. The source of the first MOS-FET is connected to a common terminal of first and second voltage supply sources while the source of the second MOS-FET is connected to the other terminal of the second voltage supply source. An output voltage is generated between a common connecting point of the drains of the first and second MOS-FETs and one potential point of the second voltage supply source.
