  • Publication number: 20110014382
Abstract: A process for production of a functional film comprises a coating liquid preparation step (12) of preparing a coating liquid; an application step (14) of applying a monolayer of the prepared coating liquid onto a substrate (18); and a drying step (16) of drying the applied coated layer. At the coating liquid preparation step (12), a plurality of solute materials are contained in at least one solvent; and when D11 is a main diffusion coefficient of a solute material A having functionality of the plurality of solute materials A and B and D22 is a main diffusion coefficient of the other solute material B, the other solute material B is selected so that an inequality A D11<D22 is satisfied; and at the drying step (16), the solute material A having functionality is unevenly distributed in the film surface.

  • Publication number: 20100315715
Abstract: According to a manufacturing method of a multilayer film according to one aspect of the present invention, at the step of applying a coating liquid prepared by dissolving a plurality of monomers or polymers in at least one solvent onto a substrate and subsequently drying the coating liquid, the solvent is allowed to penetrate into the substrate at a specified speed. This causes concentration distribution of the solvent within the coated layer in the thickness direction thereof, and thus a multilayer film separated into an upper layer and a lower layer can be formed by one coating. Accordingly, a multilayer film having a different function in each layer can be formed by one coating.

  • Publication number: 20040191419
Abstract: A coating solution is applied to a web to form a coating layer. Then the web is transported into a drying apparatus, in which a guide roller guides the web such that an angle of the web to a horizontal direction is smaller downstream from the guide roller. The angles at entrance and exit of the drying apparatus are named entrance and exit angles &thgr;1, &thgr;3, respectively, and satisfy a condition &thgr;1>&thgr;3. The coating layer has the temperature T1 at the entrance, the temperature T2 at the exit, and the temperature T3 in the drying apparatus. The differences |T2−T1| and |T3−T1| are at most 5° C. In the drying apparatus, as the organic solvent evaporates uniformly, the generation of the unevenness is reduced. Thereafter, the drying is made at the large drying speed in the blow-drying apparatus to obtain a film product.

  • Patent number: 6790480
Abstract: In a coating apparatus, a nozzle connects a feed pipe for feeding a coat solution to a manifold of a die with an opening of the manifold. The nozzle satisfies conditions: 1.5≦B/A≦5.0 and 0.8≦C/B≦8.0, when A is an equivalent diameter of an end of the nozzle to be connected with the tube, B is an equivalent diameter of another end of the nozzle to be connected with the opening, and C is a length of the nozzle. The coat solution fed from the feed pipe enters in the nozzle. In the nozzle, the coating solution diverges along with an inner wall of the nozzle to enter into the manifold. In the manifold the coating solution flows in a widthwise direction and flows out through a slit extending from the manifold to a lip of the die, such that a moving web is coated with the coating solution uniformly.
