  • Publication number: 20090303412
Abstract: An illuminating device is provided with a plurality of light source modules (LM) each of which has a light emitting element and a driver circuit for driving the light emitting element, and the illuminating device controls the driver circuit of each light source module individually. All the light. source modules are grouped by having a plurality of light source modules arranged at intervals (d) as one group. A step of lighting light emitting bodies of the light source modules in the same group (for instance, LM (1, 1)·LM (1, 9)) simultaneously under predetermined conditions is performed in turn for all the groups. Based on the obtained light emitting quantity of the light emitting element of each light source module (LM), the driver circuit of the light source module is controlled. Thus, in a backlight device provided with a plurality of illuminating areas, the light emitting quantity in each illuminating area can be accurately corrected in a short time.

  • Publication number: 20090167658
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, luminance information of a video signal inputted thereto is weighted by a weighting section. An image characteristic value determination section, by one frame, takes an average of the weighted luminance information, thereby determining an image characteristic value of one frame. A backlight controlling section sets luminance of the backlight at a backlight luminance determination section in accordance with the image characteristic value determined by the image characteristic value determination section and performs luminance correction.

  • Patent number: 7388184
Abstract: The image reading device of the present invention includes (i) a sensor substrate which functions as a photoelectric transfer element having a photodetecting TFT and a pixel capacitor and (ii) a driving IC for applying a voltage to a gate electrode of the photodetecting TFT so as to drive the photodetecting TFT into an ON state or an OFF state. The driving IC applies a voltage, whose polarity is opposite to average polarity of a voltage making the photodetecting TFT in the OFF state, to the gate electrode of the photodetecting TFT in an arbitrary period. Thus, it is possible to provide the image reading device which can suppress variation of a photodetecting TFT property (resistance value) which is observed in a short time.

  • Patent number: 5912646
Abstract: A small sized multi sector antenna having a plurality of sectors or element antennas each having related directivity in horizontal plane so that one of the element antennas is selected for providing desired beam direction has been found. Each of the element antennas is planar or in flat disc shaped, and is, for instance, a micro-strip antenna. Each of the element antennas is located in vertical plane, and each element antenna is positioned at different height from one another so that each element antenna does not overlap with other element antennas in vertical direction. A central vertical axis of the sector antenna is defined and the element antennas are positioned with axial symmetrical relations relating to said axis.

  • Patent number: 4854452
Abstract: A bill receiving and dispensing machine of "specific type of bill circulation-type" which can reuse, as bills for dispensation, only one specific type of bills among all types of received bills. According to the machine of the present invention, only one type of bills among all types of received bills is circulated through a circulating-bill pooling section for reuse as bills for dispensation and the dispensation bills other than the circulating bills are held in a dispensation bill container and the received bills and the dispensation bills are held in three limited sections, i.e. a circulating-bill pooling section, a received-bill container and a dispensation bill container. This makes it possible to eliminate the special bill pooling sections and the bill feeding-out mechanisms which are used in the conventional machines and therefore to simplify the mechanism and to reduce the noise during the operation thereof.
