  • Patent number: 8949115
Abstract: In an audio output terminal device, a buffer control unit adjusts the buffer size of a jitter buffer in accordance with the setting of a sound output mode instructed in an instruction receiving unit. If the instruction receiving unit acknowledges an instruction for setting an audio output mode that requires low delay in outputting sound, the buffer control unit reduces the buffer size of the jitter buffer. Further, the buffer control unit controls, in accordance with the instructed setting of the sound output mode, timing for allowing a media buffer to transmit one or more voice packets to the jitter buffer.

  • Patent number: 8935554
Abstract: An opening/closing detection unit detects a transition of an electronic device from an open state to a closed state or from the closed state to the open state. An electrical-power control unit sets an operation mode of an application processing unit that executes an application. When a transition from the open state to the closed state is detected while a hold switch is in an OFF state, the electrical-power control unit switches an operation mode of an application processing unit from a normal mode to a sleep mode. On the other hand, when a transition from the open state to the closed state is detected while the hold switch is in an ON state, the electrical-power control unit does not switch the operation mode of the application processing unit from the normal mode to the sleep mode.

  • Patent number: 7965198
Abstract: Disclosed is a road-to-vehicle communication system to provide highly reliable road-to-vehicle communication services by use of a vehicle's car navigation system. The roadmap information for the car navigation system contains information to indicate if an area is a road-to-vehicle communication possible area, and information relating to the communication system of road-to-vehicle communication. When the car navigation system detects that the vehicle approaches the road-to-vehicle communication possible area by a predetermined distance, a vehicle system acquires the communication system of the roadside communication equipment from the roadmap information. And the road-to-vehicle communication equipment is set to the stand-by state of the acquired communication system.

  • Patent number: 7545286
Abstract: Information to urge safety driving is outputted to a driver in dangerous areas including intersections. When a vehicle reaches near an intersection, an on-vehicle system refers to communication availability information previously stored by using a car navigation system, and recognizes whether on-vehicle communication equipment is capable of communicating with roadside communication equipment. If it is recognized that the on-vehicle communication equipment is not capable of communicating with the roadside communication equipment based on information from the car navigation system, it outputs an instruction to output safety urging information to an output device, and the output device outputs safety urging information corresponding thereto.

  • Patent number: 7003113
Abstract: In a position authentication system and electronic equipment used for the same, image data photographed by a digital camera 1 are written into storage device 3, and at the same time GPS electric wave 5 is received by GPS receiver 2 to generate latitude/longitude information. The GPS receiver 2 encrypts the latitude/longitude information, and transmits this information as position information to center system 4. The storage device 3 stores copy-guarded place-specifying data transmitted from the center system 4. The center system 4 decodes the position information 6 input from the digital camera 1, and specifies the place on the basis of the latitude/longitude information thus obtained to generate place-specifying data. The place-specifying data thus generated are subjected to copy guard-processing and then transmitted to the digital camera 1.

  • Publication number: 20040267617
Abstract: Provided are a method and a system for charging an appropriate vehicle advertisement rate in a vehicle advertisement service having an advertisement on the external body part of the vehicle. In an advertising vehicle, vehicle sensors for detecting the traveling state such as the traveling speed and the traveling position, and an on-vehicle terminal for importing the information detected by the sensors as the traveling state information are mounted. The traveling state information is imported to a vehicle-state collecting server of a prove information center from the on-vehicle terminal through a network. An advertisement rate calculating server calculates the advertisement rate from the traveling state information and data of an advertisement rate system stored beforehand in which unit rates per traveling distance, changing ratio of the unit rates according to the traveled unit area and the like are collected.
