  • Patent number: 6604848
Abstract: In the case of thickening a feed resin without pre-drying, a device is taught to enhance the thickening effect. The device includes a chamber 4 having a mixing rotor therein for continuously mixing a resin between a feed port 2 and a discharge port 3. A plurality of vent ports 7 connected to vacuum pumps 8, 9 are provided for reducing the pressure in the chamber. An element, e.g. a screw feeder 10, is provided for introducing a viscosity-increasing chemical agent into the chamber. The screw feeder is isolated from the reduced pressure areas of the chamber by elements 35, e.g. reverse screw flights of the rotor. In operation, feed resin from a hopper 6 enters the chamber through port 2 and is dehydrated while being continuously mixed in a drying section 14 via vents 7. After addition of the chemical agent, the resin is continuously mixed in a thickening section 15 while being deaerated.

  • Publication number: 20030139120
Abstract: A grinding machine rotatably carrying a finish grinding wheel and a super-finish grinding wheel respectively on first and second wheel heads practices a method of grinding workpiece surfaces to super-finish surfaces with micro oil pockets. A surface of a workpiece rotatably carried on the machine is first ground with the finish grinding wheel to a predetermined diameter under the control of a sizing device. The workpiece surface is then ground with the super-finish grinding wheel to a target diameter under the control of a sizing device. The super-finish grinding is performed to the extent that peaks of a section curve representing the roughness of the workpiece surface attained by the finish grinding are removed but bottoms of the surface curve are left to a depth when the target diameter is reached, so that the bottoms so left of the roughness constitute the micro oil pockets.

  • Patent number: 6594890
Abstract: A method of separating a plate-like workpiece held by adhesion on an elastic adhesive pad from the pad. The elastic adhesive pad has innumerable pores in its surface and generates adhesive force when negative pressure is produced by the pores, after being crushed, by restoration force generated by elasticity and adhesion. The method includes the step of heating the elastic adhesive pad at a predetermined temperature to separate the plate-like workpiece from the elastic adhesive pad by air expanding in the pores.

  • Patent number: 6597674
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a handover method, a base station, and a mobile station for a CDMA mobile communication system, to improve the efficiency of inter-frequency handover. Handover is achieved between a mobile station and distributed base stations and the like. The base stations have different traffic channel frequencies. In a normal mode, a signal unit transmitted through a traffic channel consists of four frames. In a compression mode, the base station temporally compresses two normal frames into a single frame period and then transmits the frames twice through the traffic channel. The mobile station switches the reception frequency of a present traffic channel and the reception frequency of a perch channel of the destination base station at intervals of two normal-mode frames at the head of each frame received from the perch channel. The mobile station then restores frames received from the traffic channel in the compression mode to the original frames and processes them.
