Publication number: 20020038936Abstract: A sheet member discharge mechanism comprising an upper discharge roller and a lower discharge roller for conveying a sheet member in a predetermined direction while nipping it therebetween. A push-down member is disposed downstream of the nipping portion between the upper discharge roller and the lower discharge roller as viewed in a direction of conveying the sheet member, the push-down member being allowed to move between an ascended position and a descended position and is urged to the descended position. The push-down member is moved to the ascended position by the sheet member acting upon the push-down member while the sheet member is being conveyed by the upper discharge roller and the lower discharge roller that work in cooperation. The push-down member moves to the descended position to push down the trailing edge of the sheet member after the trailing edge of the sheet member has passed the nipping portion between the upper discharge roller and the lower discharge roller.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2001Publication date: April 4, 2002Inventors: Syuji Fujisawa, Kuniaki Araishi, Kazuhisa Kondo, Masuo Kawamoto, Yoshio Sugishima, Mitsuhiro Shibata

Patent number: 5931454Abstract: A recycle document feeder according to the present invention includes a cover (251) covering a document discharge portion (30). The cover (251) is openably supported by a pivot shaft (256) between a pair of frames (255). A feed-back path (32) for guiding a document original onto a document placing plate is defined by a pair of guide members (257, 258) provided in an opposed relation. The upper guide member (258) is attached to the interior face of the cover (251). A switch claw (253) for switching the document traveling direction is attached to the pivot shaft (256) which supports the cover (251). Thus, there is no need for additionally providing a shaft for supporting the switch claw (253), thereby simplifying the construction of the document discharge portion (30).Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1997Date of Patent: August 3, 1999Assignee: Mita Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuhisa Kondo, Toru Tanjo, Hiroshi Kobayashi, Hiroyuki Harada, Masahiro Sako, Jun Kusakabe

Patent number: 5897113Abstract: An automatic document feeder according to the present invention is mountable on a copying machine. The automatic document feeder mounted on the copying machine is displaceable to a closed state and an open state with respect to the copying machine. In the closed state, originals can be automatically set on the copying machine by the automatic document feeder. When the originals are manually set on the copying machine, the automatic document feeder is brought into the open state. A tray 11 provided in the automatic document feeder is divided into a main tray 61 and a sub tray 62. The main tray 61 and the sub tray 62 are so connected to each other that their connected state is changeable to an extending state or a contracted state. When the automatic document feeder is brought into the open state, the connected state between the main tray 61 and the sub tray 62 is automatically brought into the contracted state.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 1996Date of Patent: April 27, 1999Assignee: Mita Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuhisa Kondo, Jyun Kusakabe

Patent number: 5878318Abstract: In an automatic document feeder, an original tray has an original platen on its upper surface. Originals put on the original platen are fed along a conveying path by conveying rollers and conveyance auxiliary rollers. The originals fed are separated one at a time by separating belts and separating rollers which are arranged above and below a conveying path. When a conveyance guide plate constituting a part of the original platen is removed upward, the separating rollers, the conveying rollers, and the conveyance auxiliary rollers and a portion for supporting the rollers are exposed upward, so that maintenance such as replacement of components such as the separating rollers, the conveying rollers and the conveyance auxiliary rollers can be performed.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1998Date of Patent: March 2, 1999Assignee: Mita Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masahiro Sako, Hiroshi Kobayashi, Toru Tanjo, Hiroyuki Harada, Kazuhisa Kondo, Jun Kusakabe

Patent number: 5832356Abstract: An automatic document feeder 1 automatically operates a tray depending on the operating conditions of the automatic document feeder. The automatic document feeder 1 has a set surface 7 on which originals to be conveyed are to be set. An original receiving tray 11 for receiving discharged originals is provided in the vicinity of an original discharge port 10. A lower end of the original receiving tray 11 is rotatable, and a tray driving device is connected to the back of the original receiving tray 11. The tray driving device rotates and displaces the original receiving tray 11 around the lower end depending on the operating conditions of the automatic document feeder 1. The original receiving tray 11 is raised almost perpendicularly until the originals are set on the set surface 7 (see FIGS. 4A and 4D). When the originals are conveyed, the original receiving tray 11 is rotated to an obliquely laid state (see FIGS. 4B and 4C) in order to receive the paper sheets discharged from the discharge port 10.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 1996Date of Patent: November 3, 1998Assignee: Mita Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shigeo Kurando, Tadanobu Nakajima, Toru Tanjoh, Kazuhisa Kondo, Toshio Yoshiyama, Jyun Kusakabe
