  • Patent number: 10816699
Abstract: The present invention provides a functional sheet including a functional layer provided between protective layers. The functional layer is a polarizing film layer, a photochromic layer, or a combination of the polarizing film layer and the photochromic layer. At least one of the protective layers includes a layer formed of a resin (C) containing a polyester resin (A) obtained as a result of polycondensation of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol and 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid and an aromatic polycarbonate resin (B), the polyester resin (A) being contained at a content of 10 to 100 parts by mass and the aromatic polycarbonate resin (B) being contained at a content of 0 to 90 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass as a total of the polyester resin (A) and the aromatic polycarbonate resin (B). A lens is provided with such a functional sheet.

  • Patent number: 10120206
Abstract: [Problem] The present invention provides eyewear, such as polarized sunglasses, having cholesteric liquid crystal layers, wherein the eyewear has a metallic tone and antiglare properties, minimizes the reduction in light-polarizing element absorptive capability that is associated with circular polarization, and is moreover unaffected by external degrading factors such as sebum, moisture, and salt air. [Solution] This optical film is characterized by being provided with a light-reflecting layer R comprising a cholesteric liquid crystal layer that has right-handed helical orientation, a light-reflecting layer L comprising a cholesteric liquid crystal layer that has left-handed helical orientation, and a polarizing element layer.

  • Patent number: 9709702
Abstract: Eyewear uses a polarizing lens obtained by bending a multilayer polarizing sheet in which a sheet (A) including at least 50% by mass of an aromatic polycarbonate resin and having a retardation value of 2000 nm or less at a wavelength of 600 nm is layered on one side of a polarizing film, and a sheet (B) including a special polycarbonate resin obtained by carbonate bonding a dihydroxy compound through use of a carbonic acid diester, the polycarbonate resin being a compound in which 70-100 mol % of the dihydroxy compound is represented by general formula (1), is layered on the other side of the polarizing film. (In general formula (1), R1 and R2 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a C1-C20 alkyl group, or the like. In general formula (1), X are each independently a C2-C8 alkylene group or the like.

  • Patent number: 9606373
Abstract: Provided is a spherical or aspherical polarized mirrored glasses lens that substantially prevents the appearance of reflections caused by reflection from the mirrored surface, has a high transmittance, and with the use of a colored absorption-polarization film layer, allows arbitrary selection of the color of the field of view of the sunglasses user and the color of the lens as seen by others. A polarized mirrored glasses lens is fabricated, said lens being characterized by having, in order from the light-incidence side, at least a reflection-polarization film layer and an absorption-polarization film layer, and further characterized in that: the transmission axes of said layers are aligned; and the light-incidence side is a convex spherical or aspherical surface.
