    Abstract: A production method capable of producing ITO particles without using a solvent with a high boiling point as a solvent used in the producing step by a simple treatment method without through a heating process in an atmosphere which disadvantageously causes sintering among the ITO particles to coarsen the ITO particles. An ITO powder suitable for a coating material for a transparent electroconductive material, being produced by a first step of dissolving salt containing indium and salt containing tin into an organic solvent, then adding to this organic solvent, an organic solvent containing a basic precipitant, to thereby manufacture a mixture of a precursor containing indium and tin, and the organic solvent; and a second step of applying heat treatment to the mixture of the precursor containing indium and tin, and the organic solvent in a pressurizing vessel at 200° C. or more and 300° C. or less, to generate ITO particles.

    Abstract: There is provided an accicular ferromagnetic metal powder with which one can produce magnetic media for high-density recording that are improved in storage stability and magnetic characteristics.The improved ferromagnetic metal powder essentially consists of iron and 50 atm % based on the amount of iron of cobalt and at least one of aluminum and yttrium or any other rare earth element and contains no more than 0.05 wt % of an element of Group Ia of the periodic table (Li, Na, K).     Abstract: An acrylonitrile based fiber is disclosed which is composed of copolymers comprising at least 96 mole % of acrylonitrile and 1.times.10.sup.-2 to 70.times.10.sup.-2 mole % of a vinyl component or vinyl components containing acidic groups, and containing a specific amount of zinc. The fiber is used in production of oxidized or flame resistant fiber. The oxidized or flame resistant fiber is produced by heat-treating or oxidizing the acrylonitrile based fiber in an oxidation furnace equipped with a plurality of roller units while limiting the shrinkage of the acrylonitrile based fiber within specific limits as the oxidation proceeds. On carbonizing the above oxidized or flame resistant fiber while limiting the shrinkage thereof a carbon fiber which is of high strength and low fluffing is obtained.
