Abstract: An electronic apparatus includes a main body; a display portion, a responsive member and a frictional sliding member. The display portion is supported by the main body rotatably about an axis of a rotary shaft so as to extend and retract with respect to the main body. The responsive member reciprocates in a guide groove formed in the main body as a result of the extension and retraction of the display portion. The responsive member includes a first end rotatably attached to a rear side of the display portion at a position offset from the axis of the rotary shaft, and a second end including with an engagement piece engaged with the guide groove. The frictional sliding member is disposed along the guide groove and, when compressed by the engagement piece of the responsive member, the frictional sliding member applies a frictional force to the reciprocating responsive member. • Patent number: 6650629
Abstract: In the CDMA environment, a local call is directly made between two mobile stations (MS) without the involvement of a base station. The local direct calls do not interfere with any existing communication lines, and the implementation on the CDMA based units includes Master MS units and Slave MS units which selects one of currently unused offset values in a pilot signal for a local direct call in the CDMA environment.

  • Patent number: 6628631
Abstract: Transmission information inputted to a plurality of radio base stations is encoded and then divided into a plurality of blocks in demultiplexers. Each of the blocks are spread with an orthogonal code, and is subjected to a determination in switches as to whether or not it can be transmitted. Outputs of the switches are again combined, spread with a PN code, and transmitted. A mobile station despreads a received signal with an orthogonal code and a PN code used in the transmission information to extract respective blocks which are multiplexed in a multiplexer, and encoded to extract the transmission information. With the foregoing configuration, a handoff is made in units of blocks.

  • Patent number: 6577880
Abstract: Even if traffic concentrates on a specific place in a cellular radio communication in which a base station communicates with its corresponding wireless terminal, power to be used up or consumed by the base station can be restricted. Further, the equality of communication is satisfactory and the need for a change in the conventional wireless terminal is eliminated. Therefore, two types of sectors corresponding to a wide range sector and narrow range sectors each overlapping with the wide range sector are defined in a multi-sector model. Further, a wide range antenna for the wide range sector and narrow range antennas for the narrow range sectors are separately prepared for the base station. Afterwards, signals are transmitted to wireless terminals located within the narrow range sectors by using both the wide range antenna and the narrow range antennas. In the case of CDMA in particular, the same signal is transmitted with respect to a traffic channel alone.
