  • Patent number: 6966831
Abstract: Without making such a matter that, for example, a branching point where the flow of a game story is branched is notified to the user, the user is let so as to detect a timing for a hidden branching point to be present, and in dependence on whether the detection of the branching point is right or wrong, the story has a varied subsequent development.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 14, 2001
Date of Patent: November 22, 2005
    Assignee: Sony Computer Enterrainment Inc.
    Inventors: Kazuhito Miyaki, Junichi Fujisaku
  • Patent number: 6585594
Abstract: Displaying of display data generated by an application onto a display device can immediately be customized. A display control section 803 treats game field data passed from a game processing section 802 as texture data, and deforms the data in accordance with a registered value on a management TB 804 and a player's instruction input via a manipulation receiving section 801. Then, the display control section 803 outputs the data onto a display device. When the player's instruction is not input, the data is deformed on the basis of only the registered value on the management TB 804 and the date is output onto the display device.

  • Publication number: 20020082078
Abstract: Displaying of various fields generated by an application onto a display device can be customized. A display control section 803 treats each data item of a game field, a caption field and a selection field passed from a game processing section 802 as texture data, and generates and outputs display screen data synthesized such that each data item is formed to display mode determined by registered values with a management table (TB) 804. In addition, the display control section 803 updates registered values with the management TB 804 in response to an instruction by a player sent via a manipulation receiving section 801.

  • Publication number: 20020082063
Abstract: A digest summarizing a content of an antecedent part has selective branches disposed therein, and a branch destination for starting a present part as a subsequent part of the antecedent part is determined in accordance with select information of the selective branches in the digest. Therefore, the present invention is applicable to a video game divided for example into an antecedent and a subsequent part, achieving a high gameness (high entertainmentability) rich of variation.

  • Publication number: 20020075275
Abstract: Visual effects are improved for displaying of various fields on a display device generated by an application program. A display control section 803 treats each field data of a game field, a caption field, and a selection field, which are passed from a game processing section 802, as texture data, generates display screen data by arranging each field data onto a screen coordinate system in accordance with an XY coordinate value registered with a management TB 804 and a Z coordinate value previously specified with regard to each field data, and outputs the display screen data onto the display screen.
