  • Patent number: 9409374
Abstract: A device for gluing of a double facer includes a glue bath containing glue; a gluing roll immersed in and coated with the glue; a doctor roll adjusting the glue on the gluing roll to a predetermined thickness, transferred to a single faced corrugated cardboard; a swing roll disposed at an upstream portion of a transferring direction of the corrugated cardboard; and a moving device that moves the swing roll in a direction that the single faced corrugated cardboard is wrapped around the gluing roll. The swing roll is wrapped around the single faced corrugated cardboard, and the number of flute tips of the single faced corrugated cardboard that are concurrently contacting with the gluing roll and applied with the glue is adjusted by moving only the swing roll in such a direction that crosses a sheet face of the single faced corrugated cardboard passing through the nip.

  • Publication number: 20130017941
Abstract: A swing roll 36 is arranged over a gluing roll 14 and is configured to be movable in the direction of the arrow, so that the number of flute tips of a single faced corrugated cardboard k that are to be concurrently in contact with the gluing roll 14 at a nip N between the gluing roll 14 and a pressure roll 20 can be adjusted, and an amount of glue to be applied to each flute tip m of the single faced corrugated cardboard k can be optimized. In addition, since the pressure roll 20 is arranged on the same horizontal level as the gluing roll 14, influence of a bend caused by the weight of the pressure roll 20 can be avoided and the glue can be applied evenly in the width direction. The single faced corrugated cardboard k is wrapped around the pressure roll 20 at the exit of a nip N to allow a splash s of glue to return to a glue bath 12. Additionally, this configuration makes the single faced corrugated board to leave the surface of the gluing roll at a constant point d.

  • Patent number: 5632862
Abstract: In a roll for a paper-making machine, a torque which is needed for rotating the roll is reduced and the drive power and a running cost are reduced. A hollow perforated roll in the paper-making machine is rotatably mounted on a bearing housing via a bearing. A cylindrical stationary center shaft extends in an axial direction through a center of the roll and has a perforated circumferential surface. At least two fins extending in an axial direction are mounted on an outer circumferential surface of the center shaft within the hollow interior of the roll, their outer edges being spaced from the inner circumferential surface of the perforated roll. Radially extending disc-like fins are also mounted on the outer circumferential surface of the center shaft perpendicular to an axis of the center shaft with their outer circumferential edges being spaced with a slight gap from the inner circumferential surface of the perforated roll.
