  • Patent number: 5434460
Abstract: A miniature motor including a case formed into a bottomed hollow tubular shape and having a permanent magnet fixedly fitted to the inner circumferential surface thereof, a rotor formed of an armature and a commutator, and a case cover engaged with an open end of the case and having brushes making sliding contact with the commutator and input terminals electrically connected to the brushes, in which each of brush arms is formed into an essentially U shape, with one free end thereof having a brush, and the other free end thereof being fitted to the case cover in the vicinity of internal terminals. Each of the internal terminals has an essentially V-shaped connecting part for making contact with the brush arm and is fitted to the case cover in elastically deformed state.

  • Patent number: 5405199
Abstract: A bearing device for miniature motors comprising a stator formed by fitting an end plate to an open end of a housing formed into a bottomed hollow cylindrical shape. A rotor rotatably supported by bearings is provided on the housing and the end plate. A bearing retaining body is provided formed of a resin material into a basket shape. The bearing retaining body has such a construction that a flange and a bottom member, both formed into a ring shape, are connected by a plurality of axially extending and circumferentially disposed connecting members. A plurality of axially extending support columns are disposed in the circumferential direction on the inner edge surface of the bottom member. The bearing retaining body is fitted to a retaining part provided on the housing and/or the end plate, and a ball bearing is supported via the supporting claims.

  • Patent number: 5343102
Abstract: A miniature motor including a electrically-conductive motor case is provided with a magnet fixedly fitted thereto. A non-electrically conductive case cover is provided holding a brushgear piece as a brush terminal piece. A ground terminal is provided in the form of an electrically conductive contacting piece in contact with case contacting piece. The electrically conductive contacting piece is formed into an essentially U shape. A case cover is provided with a groove for causing the tip of the case contacting piece to be plastically deformed providing electrical contact such that one of the brushes is electrically connected to the motor case via the ground terminal.

  • Patent number: 5010264
Abstract: A miniature motor having a positive-coefficient thermistor in which a first supporting member made of an electrically conductive material and electrically connected to at least any one of a pair of brushes housed in a motor cover plate, and a second supporting member made of an electrically conductive material and electrically connected to an external terminal are provided; a positive-coefficient thermistor being supported between the first and second supporting members. This construction makes the assembly of the motor easy, leading to improved productivity, and allows the motor to have a positive overheat preventing function without adding to the number of parts.

  • Patent number: 4843272
Abstract: A miniature motor having brushgear comprising brush arms with sliding parts on the tips thereof, terminals and brush bases; the brush bases being supported by a motor case cover plate, when the terminals are inserted in brush holes provided on the motor case cover plate; the sliding parts being brought into sliding contact with a commutator by the resiliency thereof, and characterized in that a flexible photo-setting resin having similar resiliency to the resiliency of vibration-damping rubber is applied to the brush arms to prevent the brushes from unwantedly vibrating during rotation of the commutator.

  • Patent number: 4734607
Abstract: A miniature motor having a plurality of commutator segments with commutator terminals which are connected to rotor windings. The commutator terminals are disposed on an insulating cylinder which is fixedly fitted to a motor rotating shaft, and a spark-quenching resistor connects each of the commutator segments. This resistor is a disc-shaped electrically conductive rubber ring which is fitted to the insulating cylinder so that the end face of the disc-shaped ring comes in contact with the commutator segment and commutator terminals and is brought into intimate contact with the commutator terminals by heating.
