  • Patent number: 7484379
Abstract: An air conditioner has an air conditioner casing in which air flows, an evaporator arranged in the air conditioner casing to cool air, an evaporator-side connector which protrudes from the evaporator toward an outer side of the air conditioner casing through an opening thereof, a piping-side connector, and a heat-insulating seal member. The piping-side connector and a refrigerant decompression member are respectively arranged at two ends of a piping group. A surrounding wall member surrounding the evaporator-side connector is erected at the air conditioner casing, so that a surrounding-shaped tip portion thereof projects beyond an end surface of a protrusion side of the evaporator-side connector. The heat-insulating seal member covers a whole area between the surrounding wall member and outer peripheral surfaces of the piping group.

  • Patent number: 7281574
Abstract: A rear face inlet 25 and a foot inlet 28, and a rear face duct portion 26 and a foot duct portion 31 which are adapted to distribute air from the inlets, respectively, are disposed in alignment with each other in a transverse direction of a vehicle. As a result, a conventional overlapping portion where the rear face inlet and the foot inlet are made to overlap each other vertically somewhere along the length of each of the inlets in a transverse direction of the vehicle and a conventional overlapping portion where the rear face duct and the rear foot duct are disposed in such a manner as to overlap each other in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle somewhere along the length of a downwardly extending portion of each of the ducts can be eliminated, whereby the air conditioning unit can be constructed so as to be decreased in size vertically and longitudinally.

  • Publication number: 20040231834
Abstract: In a vehicle air conditioner, a defroster opening is provided at an upper side of a middle portion between an evaporator and a heater core arranged adjacently. A defroster door for opening and closing the defroster opening is a butterfly door having a door body portion and a rotation shaft. The defroster opening can be partitioned by a plate surface of the door body portion into a first communication passage at a side of the evaporator and a second communication passage at a side opposite to the evaporator. In the air conditioner, a guide member for restricting an air flow in the first communication passage is provided at least one of the door body portion and an air conditioning case. Thus, it can restrict a windshield from being fogged due to evaporation of condensed water by hot air of the heater core when a blower is stopped.

  • Patent number: 6601639
Abstract: In a vehicle air conditioner where an air conditioning unit is disposed at an approximate center within an instrument panel portion in a vehicle right-left direction, an evaporator is disposed to be inclined relative to the vehicle right-left direction by a predetermined angle so that a right seat side end (driver's seat side end) of the evaporator is placed at a vehicle front side and a left seat side end thereof is placed at a vehicle rear side while an air inlet surface of the evaporator extends in a vehicle up-down direction. Further, because an opening portion is provided at a left side surface of an air conditioning case, it is possible for the evaporator to be detached from the opening portion obliquely toward a vehicle left rear side. On the other hand, because a pipe connection member is connected to the right side end of the evaporator, a pipe structure of the evaporator become simple in a passenger compartment.

  • Patent number: 6470704
Abstract: In a core portion of the receiver-integrated condenser, a condensing portion is disposed at an upper side of a super-cooling portion. A receiving unit is disposed at one end side of the core portion in a width direction, and refrigerant is U-turned in a refrigerant passage of the super-cooling portion at the other end side of the core portion in the width direction. In addition, a refrigerant outlet of the super-cooling portion is provided at the one end side of the core portion, a connector connected to the refrigerant outlet is disposed at a direct lower side of the refrigerant outlet, and the connector has a bottom surface used as a connecting surface connected with a pipe connector of a refrigerant pipe.

  • Patent number: 6460607
Abstract: A vehicle air conditioner has a case and a heater core disposed in the case substantially horizontally. The case has a center face opening formed in a side wall of the case at a substantially same height as the heater core, a defroster opening and a foot outlet. A warm air guide is disposed above the heater core to guide warm air passing through the heater core. Warm air guided by the warm air guide is mixed with cool air bypassing the heater core, and flows toward the defroster opening through an air port formed by an end portion of the warm air guide at a substantially same height as the warm air guide. Therefore, an opening area of the air port is simply increased by reducing a length of the warm air guide without increasing a size of the vehicle air conditioner. As a result, a sufficient amount of air is introduced into the defroster opening.

  • Patent number: 6398638
Abstract: In a vehicle air conditioner having manually operated operation members of an air-conditioning operation panel, rotation shafts of an air mixing door and a mode switching rotary door are disposed in a vehicle front-rear direction, so that an axial direction of the rotation shafts of the doors is made the same as that of rotation shafts of the operation members of the air-conditioning operation panel. Accordingly, operation force of the operation members can be directly transmitted to the rotation shafts of the doors by a simple structure.

  • Patent number: 6382518
Abstract: In a vehicle air conditioner, an air conditioning case has a center face opening through which air is blown toward a center upper side of a passenger compartment in a vehicle right-left direction, a side face opening through which air is blown toward a side upper side of the passenger compartment, and a defroster opening through which air is blown toward a front windshield of the vehicle. The side face opening is provided between the center face opening and the defroster opening in an arrangement direction of the center face opening and the defroster opening within a width dimension of the center face opening in a direction perpendicular to the arrangement direction. Thus, a dimension of the air conditioning case in the direction perpendicular to the arrangement direction becomes smaller, while operation force of a door for opening and closing the center face opening is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6352208
Abstract: A vehicle air conditioning apparatus includes a hot water valve for adjusting a flow amount of hot water flowing into a heating heat exchanger, a bypass passage through which air bypasses the heating heat exchanger, and a bypass door for opening and closing the bypass passage. In a high-temperature side area where temperature of air blown into the passenger compartment becomes higher, the temperature of air to be blown into the passenger compartment is adjusted by a hot-water flow adjustment of the hot water valve while the bypass door is operated at a fully closed position. On the other hand, in a low-temperature side area where temperature of air blown into the passenger compartment becomes lower, the temperature of air to be blown into the passenger compartment is adjusted by combining the hot-water flow adjustment of the hot water valve and the air flow adjustment of the bypass door.

  • Patent number: 6261172
Abstract: In a vehicle air conditioner with a rotary door, an air vent is opened in side end plates of the rotary door in an axial direction, and a communication port communicating with the air vent is opened in a side surface of a heater case opposite to the side plates of the rotary door. Further, a side face air passage communicating with the communication port of the heater case and a side face air outlet of a passenger compartment is provided outside the heater case. Thus, a part of conditioned air flows into a main air passage in the heater case through an opening of the rotary door, while a part of conditioned air flows into the side face air passage through the air vent of the rotary door and the communication port of the heater case. As a result, in the vehicle air conditioner, it is possible to always open the side face air outlet in each air outlet mode, without reducing an air amount blown into the passenger compartment.
