    Abstract: A distance measurement apparatus including: a control unit that controls a projection state of light based on a detection result of a target object; a light projection unit that projects light controlled by the control unit onto the target object; and a processing unit that determines a distance to the target object based on a detection result of reflected light. With this, it is possible to accurately project the light onto the target object and determine the distance to the target object by: controlling the projection state of the light based on the detection result of the target object to project the light onto the target object; and determining the distance to the target object based on the detection result of the reflected light.
